You don't have the players. Your players are rubbish.
No chance Andy, villa have Delph who's a level above Yaya Toure and Benteke who hits the ball better than prime Junininininho
Eduardo Berizzo from Celta Vigo. Another one of Bielsas protégés. Others include Pochettino, Simone and Sampaoli who are all doing very well.
like the others he likes his team to be able to press well and has a goood balance between defence and attack. He isn't doing an amazing job at Celta but neither did Pochettino at Espanyol.
i am sad villa have sacked lambert.
they might stay up now

--------------------------
yeah it probably looks that way on the outside on the in.. but has a villa fan whos lost all confidence in villa... even I can see the players are not rubbish and not worthy of being a relegated side.
Its lamberts dire tactics that have killed the team and made them useless.
This club has to be ambitious with its choice of manager; whatever the cost, it's asking for trouble to accept anything less, and will ultimately cost more. It's extremely hard to find that sort of person currently in British football; the few worth a thought to my mind are:-
McLaren - but he won't come, too tied to Derby
Lennon - bright, ambitious, done OK in Europe with limited resources, motivator, probably committed to Bolton but he just might
Sherwood - a risk, but probably worth it if better candidates can't be got
MON - might just come back, again a risk, not too popular, but... worth a thought
McAllister - as a last resort, think he's good enough at least in the short term, better than the lot below
Forget about: Hoddle, Curbishley, Sven, Harry, Warnock, Davies (yesterday's men)
Forget about: Warburton, Dyche, Southgate, Keane, Adkins, Clark, McCarthy, Rosler, Cowans, Coyle (not good enough to plain awful)
Foreign coaches (probably the best bet):
Laudrup - my choice, he could do something with our current squad and he'd take us forwards, but will he leave Quater now? Just might if we want him enough.
Klinsmann - could be a rough start but good long term, don't think he'd come
Benitez - maybe in the summer if we had a new ambitious owner, but unlikely now
Paul Clement - interesting, definitely worth a thought
Kent Nielsen - old Villa doing tops in Denmark, not risk free but again worth a thought
Rangnik - good credentials but he'd have to hit the ground running
... in fact, the more I think about it, the more I'd go for Laudrup if he'd come. He's got the confidence to come in and do it. I'd have doubts about him hitting it off with Randy but think he'd get on fine with Fox. We've now got players like Sinclair, Gil and Sanchez who are probably right up his street. He'd be OK with a defence with players like Clark, Okore and Hutton in it as well. He'd improve Weimann if anybody can. Think Gabby would have to produce or go.
What was wrong with Alex McLeish? He was doing a great job.
The sad thing for the V'ill is the sacking was done without a ready made stand-in.
The old adage; 'fail to plan, plan to fail' may well rear its head.
Don't come after our GR please...
I've heard that Jasper Carrot is in talks as we speak!
Correction!
Breaking news:
"Glenn Hoddle will watch Aston Villa's FA Cup match this weekend from the stands before rubber stamping a short term contract with the club. Eileen Drewery is expected to be given a prominent role in Hoddle's revamped back room team"!

I've gone off Sherwood. Searching around, there's a lot of stuff about him being a disruptive influence at Spurs when AVB was there, and in fact there's no real evidence that he'd actually make a good manager.
Not Sherwood for me. I would try & go for Moyes, other than that no outstanding candidate in my opinion.
Not sure why you wouldn't give Sherwood a shot.
Whichever way you dice it, did very well at Spurs.
If you weren't in fear of relegation, Laudrup would be the best shout but not sure he'd be able to make an instant impact
You could appoint the Chuckle Brothers and get back to basics on the training ground. To me, to you. To me, to you.
Sherwood is a disaster............
So are we
Two disasters don't make a success
True MCP I may not sound it but will always be positive if I can.
We are going to be in the 6th Round Sunday and a Premier League club come May
I can see us climbing up the table next season
The question is, which table
Pretty sure Sherwood had a worse record than AVB at Spurs.
Good luck
