John Locke you can't not have garcia but have ward and haye who haven't fought in ages! Also lara above canelo even though he just beat him? I think the guvs MWs is the better list but I like your SMW

D.Garcia isn't a junior welterweight anymore, he can't make weight, so I can't include the fraud in my list. The same doesn't apply to Ward and Haye, they've been inactive but they can make weight (Haye doesn't have to obviously...)

I had Lara edging Canelo so I have him ranked higher, but I'm fine if you rank Canelo higher

just realised I forgot Gamboa, he's moving back down to 130 so it's between him and Linares for the #1 spot imo

Linares is at 135

Gamboa is defo the top dog at 130

I think Khan beats Brook but Brook but Brook beats more guys in the top 10 than Khan.

For example I would pick Brook to easily beat Maidana and although I would pick Khan to beat Maidana again, I would hesitate, it's not a sure thing. I think Porter would beat Khan and we saw Brook just about handle him.

I think porter beats Khan all day terrible match up for khan

I get what you mean with garcia but your hate for him is clouding judgement haha. Also Crawford will be top dog at 140 but has had no fights so it's hard to rank him. I also think Walters beats lamo but not confident enough to argue with yours! Also donaire frampton would be a great fight I'd slightly edge to donaire even if he's slightly past it. No one is really going to fight rigo doesn't sell, near impossible to look good against and extremely hard to beat

Bradley > Marquez, Brook & Khan at Welter, imo. He's pretty under-rated.

Does nobody on this site rate Keith Thurman??

I think it's just a matter of time before he becomes undisputed welterweight Champ.

All the talk has been about Floyd and Pacquiao because they are such huge names but I think Thurman probably beats both Floyd and Pacquiao at this point.

It's a big shame that Thurman is yet another fighter who we'll never get to see fight against supposed TBE Floyd before he retires.

Thurman wants the Floyd fight badly and when Thurman becomes future welterweight king everyone will ask why we never got that fight either

This is what irritates me about boxing these days. We never seem to get the really juicy match ups. There's so much BS politics in the way all the time.

Keith my guy. My favourite active fighter.

I don't see Keith beating Floyd because he's not really the kind of fighter who likes to bring the fight to his opponent, he likes to fight on the backfoot. Against Floyd he would have to be the aggressor and I don't think that suits him. It would be a boxing match and Keith can't outbox Floyd.

He has a better chance against Pac because Pac would be the aggressor in they fought, but still I would pick Pac to beat him.

I would probably pick him to beat everyone else at 147, although I feel Brook and Bradley would be 50-50 fights.

Can't wait for Thurman vs Guerrero, if Guerrero doesn't box and fight smart he could get brutalised. If he does, it could be a good, competitive fight. The winner of that one should fight Maidana or Porter.

A lot of people are picking Guerrero to cause an upset, I personally don't see it.

If he boxes he could make it close and competitive, but if he's the aggressor, he will walk into big punches all night and probably get stopped.

Yeah I really like him as a fighter, he's really exciting.

He definitely wouldn't outbox Floyd but I don't think he would try to either. He seems like an intelligent fighter. Whether he's the guy to beat Floyd is debatable but I'd love to see that fight.

I'd even take a Floyd-Khan fight at this point. Anything that sees Floyd challenged before he retires.

I don't want to see Floyd fighting fighters of the calibre of Maidana anymore. We know he can beat that standard of fighter and we don't need two fights to prove it.

Thurman is young, very hungry and extremely confident. I think he knows he belongs up there with the very best even if the public haven't realised it yet

"Still unconvinced by thurman to be honest. I've noticed things that he needs to work on like his movement defensively and his overall defence. He gets hit with shots that he should not be getting hit with and against top fighters that will add up on the scorecards. He has heavy reliance on his power,he clearly doesn't mind getting hit as long as he can land his power punches which again could be exposed against crafty fighters.

The guerrero fight will be his first big test and it will tell us how far the boy can go."

lol wtf? His footwork/movement is quality, you don't often see big punchers who can use their feet and fight on the backfoot.

In terms of defence, his defence is good when he's not on the attack, when he attacks though, he gets too wild and leaves himself open for counters. He's got good feet and reflexes.

He has shown against Zaveck, Chaves, Karass, Bundu etc that he isn't over reliant on his power. He boxed in all of those fights. Watch his fight against Chaves. Chaves broke his nose early and Thurman had to adjust and box until he found the right openings.

I think Chaves is a very underrated win on his resume, Guerrero is slightly better but I think they are similar level of fighters. Since the Thurman fight Chaves has outworked and beat Rios and was a close and competitive fight with Bradley, although I had Bradley winning 8-4. He's a tough dog with good skill.

I don't rate Zaveck either, I'm just saying the fight proves he isn't too reliant on his power
