We have become a Joke!

My god we don't half have some moaning Marys for fans.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think its fair to say that theirs plenty to moan about. Its been building up season after season and after losing Fabregas and Nasri and failing to win or even score in our first two league games we are desperate for reinforcements. It just seems like AW doesn't see what we all see. He looks at players like Frimpong, Lansbury, Miquel, Miyaichi etc and sees potential but we need established quality now not in 3 years.

I freaking hate all of you apart from a select few who have actually got a brain cell or two.

Man the f%* up.

I think we have a right to moan when we have sold 2 fantastic players in Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas, also the experienced Clichy and Eboue.

we have decimated the squad from last season and replaced it with youth. Its asking to much of young players to play 40+ games a season and try and get us in the top 4.

2 of our 3 signings have come from clubs in the lower leagues and are both under 21! Tbh i dont honestly think Wenger intended them to play as much as they have done (well jenkinson i mean) so i don't really see them as big signings at all. Gervinho, yeah fair play looks decent but its nothing when you throw in that weve lost Fabby and Nasri into the mix. Nice to have english players out there, but i miss actually feeling confident on match days!

I think he HAS tried but i think he is never willing to make the right bid. You cannot expect to get players on the cheap anymore. You have to spend a little more. What puzzles me is that he is willing to spend 12-15mil on a 17 year old. Surely that's more risky then spending 15-25mil on a proven player that will do the job now rather then later.

Oh god, there's always something to moan about - it's all these people who moan to the exclusion of all else that do my head it. Every year it's the same. Boring.

Right up until Wednesday night this board was full of Arsenal fans telling us how we were going to get chucked out of Europe at the hands of Udinese - I'm just so bored of this negative outlook on absolutely everything.

It's like a room full of teenagers constantly saying everything's "so unfair" a la Harry Enfield.

Look a this point with the current team we are in crisis. If people cant see that they are deluded. On Thursday morning we will have a clearer indication whether AW is still a genius who knows exactly what we need or if hes completely lost it.

I think Arsene is a wily one with his comments.

Did Southampton need £8m right here and now?

Hmm... sweeten that with all the add ons... BINGO!

Rennes, Sochaux, Bolton and possibly even Lille, are just as flexable I'd imagine.

Thursday will tell us just HOW hard Arsene tried to sign his "super quality".

if we weren't playing man utd this weekend i might be a bit more positive. We need that first win on the board asap and its going to be a tall order getting it at Old Trafford.

I can honestly say that i was not one that believed we would get knocked out. I knew with the players returning from suspension we would be too strong for Udinese and that people were over reacting. My problem is that this current team is not good enough to compete with the big sides which puts out top four position at real risk.

It's frankly boring now all the doom and gloom and everyone creating articles spouting the exact same thing. I have less and less desire to post on the board these days.

We know the weaknesses of the squad, it's been debated to death. Things should have been sorted much earlier, we're all aware of that.

Hold off until the window closes and then by all means take to the internet with sword and shield in-hand.

I get your point. But wait til 1st September to maon if nothing happens!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The point is that AW needs to start bringing in players before the first league fixture, to integrate them with the squad. Not in the last six days. If we had brought in players earlier we might not have start the league of so badly. Also with only 6 days will he bring in enough? Or will he bring in just one or two? Seems like he has left himself with too much to do.

Interestingly, this was what he said when he made the 'busy summer' speech:

"We are very very busy all over our Club, we are looking, analysing, talking to people. There are two steps in the transfer market during the summer, the first is very early and the second one is very late."

-and-

".......a lot will happen at the start and a lot will happen at the end ....."

Remember Arshavin's deal going through AFTER the window had shut?

I'm trying to reserve judgement until at least tea-time on the 2nd Sept....
