Depends what formation he's played in.
Can't see us playing 3421 for the rest of time but he's superb as on of the wing backs. Loads of pace, great strength and a fantastic engine but for me he'd be best in a 4231 as one of the wide forwards!
Agreed, his strength is very interesting....
He seems to have very quick feet and a great turn of pace/direction and ability to unbalance defenders, rather than the kick and run style we see from a lot of big guys...
I can't recall too many players with that sort of strength/size and natural dribbling ability!
I'm really excited about the kid!
Long-term as a striker for me. His positional sense is great for such a young player. Plus he had a great eye for goal. He could be another Sturridge type player.
I've said a few times that I think he'd be better than Sterling but have been told he's not as intelligent as Sterling but I honestly think he will become the better player.
He's got everything Sterling has but more strength and power!
He is a forward.
A roaming type in the C Ronaldo, Heung Min Son sort of mould.
Playing wing back is good for him right now though, because he has space in front of him, and is learning about defensive responsibility.
Right of a diamond with freefom to cut in.
I see him as a wide forward, looks a more natural fit in that position than Sterling who has struggled at times, particularly when placed on the right.
Sterling---Sturridge---Ibe
That's the future.
i doubt it.
wing back allows the lad a lot of space to play in but he is simply not that player.
I agree with neo he is a wide forward and potentially a central player given his power.
For me..... he played at derby so his experience is wide. we are playing him wide on a touchline and its easier for him to keep gaining experience there and we can work on moving him infield as we go.
Start with right forward and see where it goes

disagree.
COUTINHOOOOOOO!!!!!
coutinho and struddige are on new long term deals this season. singing up ibe seems easier than sterling.
For me sterling can sign up now or be sold... I'm easy.
Why would you decide that now? After 4 games. Ffs
Ibe is playing well because he has that space that being at wing back affords him to run in to.
He will probably have bale like progression forwards though, could be a good alternative to studge up front too, both like to drift wide then cut in.
we will see.. rodgers will have a plan
Ibe is a great prospect, someone I know in real life from his Wycombe days. Hope he succeeds.
