Personally think it's Manny's last fight (350K) that's pushed this fight as it's gotta hurt that Floyd did over double that.
--------------------------------
Goes without saying though. Maidana is a bigger name than Algieri.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which again says Manny's a lot more desperate as if he really had a similar fanbase then the buys would have been more.
Either that or he delibirately picked an easy fight as he's getting worried about his skills diminishing (which would also make him desperate to get this fight made)
Personally I've accepted the fact that we'll only see this fight once.
All I ask for is that Floyd fights a big fight for what will be his last fight after Pacquiao.
Speaking realistically I want to see Floyd fight Keith Thurman. That fight actually excites me even more than Floyd v Manny.
I don't want to see Floyd go out with an easy last fight and in truth I don't think I'm that interested in Floyd fighting Khan either.
I think Thurman takes Khan's head off.
I want Floyd to fight his fight, if he's gonna get beat then it has to be that way, otherwise the fanboys can add a bunch of caveats on (He only got beat cause he went gung ho etc)
As for Khan, i'd like to see him fight a couple of hard good fights at the weight to put himself front and centre for a shot at the winner of Pac/May.
Whoever fights either next (if they haven't retired,) needs to put themselves in contention by fighting the top of the tree not cherry picking
Thurman needs to beat Guerrero which I'm sure he will. Then he can start being taken really seriously in the division.
Thurman is desperate to fight Floyd before he retires.
Showtime made losses on Mayweather fights, they need to do at least 1.3m to turn a profit
They didn't even release the Maidana figures because they were so low.
Can you show me some proof D4 as i've looked and the only thing I can find is that Manny is way behind in the PPV stakes.
(Scroll further up, you'll see the averages and that)
oh and 1.3m is next to sod all for a PPV company and a boxer that makes around 40mil per fight. Someones telling you porkies bud.

It really quite simple, the amount of money Showtime shell out is more than they got back for 3 of 4 of Floyd's fights so far.
Moonves wasn't going accept another loss.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
We need Proof D4 and there's no way they're losing money othewise Manny is currently making HBO go bust. (He might not be being paid the same but buy rates have proper dropped off.
Me thinks someone's that scared that his favourite ducker is gonna lose that he's making more excuses
Ask Moonves, he will tell you.
Except he won't because the only place that that has been mentioned is on forums where they're desperate to find something wrong with Floyd.
Unfortunately as with your boxing career amazing insight <snort> you've been found to be full of crap again.
Manny's PPV's have been pitiful compared to Floyd's and that fact grates on you because it shows he never had to take the fight yet Manny was desperate cause he needed the dosh.
Poor poor D4

The Floyd fans need to take it down a notch here, you're starting to sound as arrogant as Floyd himself.
This thread is just getting plain ugly. We know Floyd is a bigger name than Pacquiao (slightly) and we know that Floyd does better ppv numbers overall.
However Floyd's numbers were slipping in recent fights because the boxing public wanted to see Floyd fight Pacquiao and that is one of the main reasons we got to see this fight happen.
Floyd was under massive pressure to take this fight and if he hadn't there would have been public outrage and boycotting of his next fights.
The fight should have happened years ago but it didn't so please don't tell us that Floyd always gives us what we want because if he really did we'd probably have seen a few Mayweather Pacquiao fights by now.
Not just one fight at the end of their careers..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If pacquiao never got put to sleep by marquez we would have seen Floyd vs Pacquiao for sure. Him being put to sleep basically ended his chances at that point of getting a floyd fight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As great as that excuse might sound on paper it fails to ignore the fact that Marquez knocked out Pac just two years ago.
What about the three years before that when everyone was calling for this fight ?
People have been calling for Mayweather Pacquiao for at least five years. Not just two years.

Closer to 6 Superb,
If only Pac would have taken the test
If only Floyd would have signed the contract
If only Pac would have left Arum
Or Floyd left showtime.
If only Floyds PPV buys were so far down he'd be forced to take it. Glad that Manny's were even lower now or I fear you'd all still be waiting.
They pay mayweather £32m a fight except canelo which was £40m cable company's/satalite company's take approx 50% they also sell the fight which makes £20m at MGM plus all sponsors plus selling to uk and other countries (maidana fight argintina) the May pac fight is being rumoured to cost sky/bt/box nation (who ever buys it) £5-10m! As for moonves nobody expect floyd to fight manny as he was guaranteed £32m no matter who he fought.
Also Stephen Espinoza is on record saying they have made money! As for showtime making a deal saying they need £1.3m to break even is ridiculous as only 3 of his fights went past that amount on HBO who has much more viewers then showtime which kind of makes mannys numbers look even worse.
I for one actually think floyd has slipped more than manny take away marquez punch that's the most he's hurt and been beating marquez in 4 fights plus he beat bradley twice. His last fight against algeri (who is not very good and a weight below) that's the best he's looked for a while, meanwhile floyd didn't look great and looked like he lost a step or 2 last year
