Given your spending in the summer and your claim as you have a better manager in Liverpool, you should finish above us. Is it not fair?

Maf won't do the relegation bet, and fair enough he won't, it's very unlikely Everton will get relegated, so why would he?

Likewise arouna has bottled out of the Everton finishing above West Ham bet, understandably as there is absolutely no chance of that happening.

A balance needs to be struck. Everton to finish top half seems sensible.

So my equal risk reward bet is not going to be taken by Maf.

West Ham are 7 points from slipping into the bottom half
Everton are 8 points from getting into the top half

if Everton get into the top half and West Ham don't, Arouna wins the bet
If West Ham stay top half and Everton don't, Maf wins the bet.

If both clubs finish top half or bottom half, bet is null and void.
