It feels like a really pivotal game for Jackie for some reason tonight, and it probably shouldn't be.

He has to go back to his philosophy. He's got to try and play football and pass the ball and put on a performance. I'd go as far as saying that the performance and the manner of it is more important than the result, although obviously a defeat wouldn't help him one bit.

If he can set the team out to pass the ball, attack and do that silly defending thing then the fans will come back around. If it's another hopeless, disjointed, toothless performance then there might be some hostility from the stands, which I don't agree with might I add, but which is probably inevitable.

I think we just need hope that things aren't completely going off the rails which is how I think a lot of people are feeling right now.

Has the loss of the terrific twosome led to the drop in form of Dundee Hibernian?

We lost 3-0 away to Killie earlier in the season and we've certainly lost plenty of times to St Johnstone of late with those two players in the team so I think it's a bit out of hand to say it's because we lost those players.

It's more to do with our dreadful away form and our inability to beat St Johnstone rather than Armstrong and GMS leaving.

Have you got all your money on it?

Ivan,
I'm struggling to have sympathy with the manager as he brings much of the criticism on himself.
I can't think of any manager who doesn't want a strong and settled spine to his team.
Jackie appears to think differently.
This season he has continually changed the central defenders and the defensive pair in midfield around.
And Ciftci is now being moved as well.
On a different topic where will Soutar fit into his plans ?
Evidence would suggest he's not a central defender and we have 2 full backs.

Have you threw in the towel already regarding the cup final?

How that wee cicfti player been doing these days ?

I hope you are developing him nicely

Yep. Unbeaten throughout 2015 are Caley, and ropey United are in miserable form- a secure win for the Jags to give them a stonking ten point cushion over the sorry Arabs.

old shed boy, I find it really difficult to argue with you to be honest.

As I said the other day, he hasn't been helped by injuries at the back and loss of form for Rankin and Paton but yeah, I'm looking for excuses for him.

I don't like Ciftci being moved from up front either, although again we need Anier to get game time up front for the final.

On Souttar, I'd have liked to have seen him out on loan for the second half of the season, but not sure if that's still possible outside of the transfer window? He needs to toughen up and a spell down the leagues would help with that.

Marc, seems risky putting all your money on that. Wouldn't like to see you lose your shirt. Even if it is a green and grey hooped one.

Serious question, if United lose their next two games which is tonight against ICT and Saturday at home to Partick Thistle, will there be calls for him to go?

Do you think the board will get most of the blame?

2 defeats could also see Dundee sit just 3 points behind you albeit you will have one game in hand

There are already people wanting him out, so yeah I can imagine they will escalate. The board are already under pressure by some too so again, that will escalate.

Personally I would wait and see how the two cup games go. Two heavy defeats in those on top of four losses on the bounce.....it would be tough to defend him and I'm not sure I wouldn't be calling for him to go.

Falling below Dundee would be unthinkable as far as I'm concerned and I don't believe it would happen. It better not anyway.

Dundee are winning ugly when they aren't playing well which is always a good trait to have.

It's not unthinkable that United will lose their next two games based on current form.

That said, I don't believe you will fall below them, you should still have too much

The cup games are massive now, if anything the next 4 games are the biggest of Jackie's career as manager

Certainly a massive 4 games coming up for United and Jackie.
Lose all 4, which isn't unthinkable, and the 'shookly nail' becomes inevitable as we'd be free falling towards the bottom 6.
The big concern is that this doesn't look a glitch in form but a scenario where the manager has lost it with the players.
Win even three of these games and Jackies a hero again.
Preferably including the final.

Football fans are fickle

You can take the next two games but I'm sorry, we will be marching on in the Scottish and coming home with the League Cup

I'd imagine your starting 11 for that game will be:

Rado

McGowan
Fojut
Morris
Dixon

Paton
Butcher

Dow
Telfer
Erskine

Anier

Maybe Spittal or Connolly in for Telfer and Dow?

FFS NNH, you've probably picked a better team than Jackie will.
Seriously though I don't think it'll differ much from that.
I'd say only one from Telfer, Spittal and Connelly likely to play at the same time.
We have to be solid at the back and hope that we can nick it at some stage.
Celtic should win but it's a one off and shocks do happen.

Only my second game of the season tonight. The other one was the 3-0 away to Aberdeen. I wouldn't mind a similar result for United...
