I'm not sure Tommy. Our results would suggest we've got some exciting prospects coming through but we've thought this for quite a few years now with only Schlupp and Moore making any real impression on the first team.
With distance and family commitments I can't profess to being close to our accademy and therefore individual prospects, but we've seen many talked up hugely recently and yet to come through.
Blythe and Paneyaitu (apologies for the spelling) to name two.
Let's hope this is the crop to make the breakthrough and really make an impression.
Can anyone closer to the players give info on those likely to make it?
Mersey
My son is friends with Hamza Choudray and I have to say that if he keeps progressing he could be very good.
Ps
Would love to know what makes this a 1 star article about our youth potential.
I know I haven't been here that long so maybe I am missing something....
Hamza Choudray seems to be the one to keep an eye on. But yes, other than that I wouldn't expect to see these guys breaking through in the immediate future. Generally these players will start their senior career on loan and get their performance assessed to see which league they're likely to end up playing in, like Tom Hopper has been. We've seen quite a few players come through our academy over the last five or six years who haven't made it at the time and unfortunately haven't proven us wrong afterwards either.
Tommy, people tend to rate the poster rather than the article on here. E.g It doesnt matter what you write, if certain posters don't like your style, you get one starred.
Ah that explains a lot BS
They could at least be constructive and comment as well as rating it or perhaps that is too much to ask 👍
I have rated this article 4 Stars on the basis that, while I applaud and broadly agree with the sentiments expressed, I disapprove of the comma usage in the first line when a semicolon would have been so much more appropriate.
I also object to the adjective usage in the piece: Although I appreciate that progression in the competition is a good and positive concept, I debate that there is ever such a thing as a "great" win against Birmingham.
I am also clearly in a very strange mood today.

I bow to your greater knowledge, experience and age where typing articles is concerned.
😉
I think you've been one starred because you've dared to look for something positive to post instead of remaining in the pit of gloom and despondency.
I never pay much attention to the ratings anyway.

Nor do I, but it was the first time I had seen some 1 star votes about a positive article and without commenting.
Ce la vie 😃
Oooh I think i hsve had only been not one stared once recently.
As for Speeling and puncturation i woould not last a second on here
I blame Pearson for Nev's speeling and puncturation.
By the way Wood has agreed to join Ipswich on loan following Liam Moores move to Brentford. Knocky rejected a move so is staying with us
Back to the youth thing in all my years of being a city fan you can probably count say 20 odd, the number of players who have come out the youth team set up do if you get one a season who's good enough its a miracle just shows how hard no matter what the team is to break through.
BlackStarr- I did read that but you usually start your own thread on such things... I guess you thought the news not worthy of your time and effort. Please do as this one has ran it's course my friend.
Oh by the way tommy, I just gave you five stars!
I went for full house and have it 3 stars.
Bingo!!!
