I thought Cisse's +1 ban was for something else

Don't know for certain but heard someone else say it

Thats the rules, nothing to do with nationality. If you have already been sent off you get an extra game ban.

Trying to turn it into a racial thing

Cisse got an extra ban for receiving a second red card this season, this is nothing to do with race.

What an idiot.

Learn about the rules before spewing your bile.

Personally I think the FA should show a bit more common sense to the situation and ban Cisse for less seeing as first he's clearly admitted to it and stated he reacted to the spit from Evans in the first place. Yes it was wrong but on one hand you have a player completely denying it when the evidence clearly shows otherwise and the other has come forward and apologised - should show slight leniency to him.

Although yeah as mentioned his extra match ban comes into play because he's already been banned once before this season.

How will Evans pay his mortgage now

What a stupid caant the OP is

Trying to create a racial issue out of nothing is equally as disgusting as racism itself.

Fair comment, I agree with that. Players must be encouraged to show remorse and accept their mistakes rather than waste everybody's time with stupid appeals like Evans did. Unfortunately the rules are very rigid atm.

Absolutely nothing to do with who's a foreigner and who's not. Utterly ludicrous suggestion.

So
Is the thread going as you imagined it op?

what a nob

I'd try and get this deleted before more people see this.

The OP is wrong about the extra match ban because those are the rules, and about the racial issue because it's got nothing to do with that. But he is right about the rules failing to acknowledge that Cisse has shown remorse and contrition whilst Evans ridiculously appealed in the face of clear, damning evidence.

He might be innocent though. It is that simple.

If I hadn't intentionally spat, nothing in this world would make me say I had.. Even if it meant a more lenient ban.

and before anyone says.... Yes, the FA have found him guilty, but that is not proof that he meant to do it.

If only life had an 'undo' button

But the evidence clearly shows that he was guilty, anybody can see that. It was a stupid appeal.

There's a thread right underneath this one talking about Evan's and the spitting incident.

Cisse got off lightly he kicked out attempted a headbutt then did a full blown spit to Evans neck. Honestly shocked if Evans gets a 6 game ban same as Cisse for the offence he did but Cisse gets another 1 for previous offence.

It shows he spat on the floor.

Nothing can "prove" he was guilty. Nothing.

The point remains, players should never be encouraged to admit something they didn't do, just because it might get them a match less ban.

You are entitled to your opinions. The opinion that matters is that he is guilty and most people on these boards and even on Man U fan forums agree that he was guilty.

The whole thing is a farce and has been blown out of proportion. Spitting is disgusting and should be punished.

However, it's ridiculous that spitting gets a 6 game ban, yet slapping someone round the face or a potential leg breaker should get a 3 game ban. Half the punishment! Shocking FA yet again.

And any suggestion that Cisse is some kind of Saint for admitting it, is BS. He made a pretty bad tackle, then tried to kick Evans, then spat at him. Should be a 10 game ban given the crazy FA, pull a number out of a hat, rules.

And still people insist Evans 'spat on the floor'...

Are you nuts? He spat downwards towards where Cisse was, right in front of him. For him to miss Cisse and hit the floor he'd have had to tilt his head left or right and spit to the side of Cisse, as opposed to, ya know, what he clearly did in every video clip of the incident available: looked directly at Cisse and spat in his direction.

Genuinely baffled as to how anyone is seeing anything different. Time to take off the United-tinted specs guys.

That said, it's a very harsh ban for both players
