Costa is a good player but he's not really much more than a poacher. Doesn't really have it in him to rescue you when your team isn't playing well, last night.

Very similar to Giroud, and it's what seperates them from the top level of strikers

I find it tedious when fans of rival club use stats to prove their player is better than another. Fact is would you have Costa or Giroud? If it isnt Costa you're lying to yourself

Apparently the goal in the Capital one cup has been given as an own goal, which mean he hasn't scored since the Swansea game (17/01).

I use stats to back up my opinions. I have been of the opinion that Costa has flattered to deceive for months and that a player returning from a broken leg has played better than him. The stats only back up my thoughts

Past 2 months Giroud has been better, but overall yes Costa has delivered more this season

you can use stats to prove anything Im sure theres one that will prove Kane is more prolific than Messi or Ronaldo over a certain period of time, but fact is he isnt.

I very much doubt that is true. And my stats aren't over a small period of time, they are over the course of the entire season.

I don't believe in stats either in so far you are right, "Wake me..." I judge player on what I see.

The OP is right though...Costa is not world class but has certainly qualities which are different to the qualities Giroud has got. In my view it is difficult to compare Giroud to any other striker in the PL anyway.

Is Costa worth the amount of money that Chelsea paid for him? Not sure....

Costa is a huge upgrade on what we had last season, to the extent we are 5 points clear at the top of the table.

If his goals win us the title I dont care if Giroud is a better striker.

Arsenal should sign Cavanni this summer. Think its a match made in heaven. He'd be your Costa/Aguero/Suarez and then a DM unless coquelin plays every game like the other night then maybe CB cover...

Honestly, might sound crazy, but Falcao at you aswell. He'd do a job. Both him and Cavanni have that world class authority to do a job at you lot. Give either free rein in that number 9 role 20+ goals minimum plus Wenger is a better manager. Falcao was doomed when he signed for Utd never got to be the main man because of RVP n Rooney. If you had him he'd be like he was at Athletico

Chelsea are going to win the league this season, at least partly due to Costa's goals in the first half of the season, so I guess he has been a good signing for them.

However, I've always thought he might be a bit of a donkey. I was eating my... err... thoughts, earlier in the season but now I am regurgitating them and presenting them on the Internet.
