Even though we are 5 clear with a game in hand I think we will do very well to win the title. I can't see these lacklustre performances winning us much football matches.
& it's hard disagree that we bottled it last night, I'd love to have reasons to disagree. It's not like we went down to 10.
I think Jose is partly responsible as he instructs the way the team plays. He plays safety first and percentages and when they come off he gets plaudits. Yesterday there was no conviction in attack. Even with PSG down to 10 he refused to risk attack and ultimately that cost us.
Hazard has more goals than Bale this season, playing in a more competitive league, alongside players who aren't as creative as the players Real have at their disposal.
We didn't so much bottle it, we just were so naive and didn't want it more. I think the players thought the win was in the bag.
While Chelsea had one of their poorest displays of the season, I don't think enough credit is going the way of PSG. To go a man down (and arguably their most dangerous man at that) after 30 minutes on hostile territory and then fight back twice to go through to the next round is no mean feat.
Very few clubs in the world would be able to do that.
Seriously it was a poor performance. Our passing in the final third and pressing was as poor as I have seen since Moruinho came back. We were in a much worse situation last year and beat PSG - yet something went totally wrong with the players on Wednesday in a very comfortable position. I won't blame Mourinho for the tactics, however given how the rest of the season goes, I may blame him for his rotation policy (lack off) which lead to that performance. I still fully expect us to win the title - no excuses there.
