rest is what he needs, look at other La Liga players in the EPL atm.
Yeah a tough question.
One part is surely tiredness. Played at an incredible intensity for months, game after game.
I don't think he really suits playing with Giroud, either. You look at when he played with Welbeck and Welbz movement going wide created a lot of space for him to drive into.
Giroud mainly stays in the middle, so it's harder for Alexis to lose his markers because they don't get dragged into the middle to cover for the guys marking Welbeck.
I am not worried about Alexis Sanchez at all. He dropped a little bit of form. I think it's normal. Players are not machines. Rest him at Newcastle and he is going to be allright again.
Sanchez was notorious at Barca for slipping, tripping over his own feet or the ball, missing the ball and other general moment of complete awfulness.
He was also notorious for being anonymous at the business end of the season, as was Fabregas.
Barca were glad to part with both for a reason, perhaps now that the media love in for both has ended fans begin to realise their obvious limitations.

Agreed. Barca or Real rarely sell players to EPL teams unless they feel they are on decline or not good enough for them.
well they wouldn't sell us messi so what else can teams like Chelsea and arsenal do???
If going through barca's 'trash' to get titbits like Cesc and Sanchez is what we have to do then so be it.
Barca and Madrid have some of the finest dustbins in the world of football.
Sanchez games is gone at present.
His passing is probably the worst in the team.
Needs a few weeks off
Can't blame this one on Wenger. It's his own fault. Great player but thinks he's some superhero with unlimited energy and refuses to rest. Being a hard worker is a great attribute to have but he takes it abit far sometimes
I'd leave him out completely against Newcastle and have him on the bench for Liverpool

Image in my head of Alexis crossing out someone elses name on the teamsheet so he can get a game
His legs look heavy, I think he's just been overplayed.
His intensity has dropped of a little which has also meant his game is dipping. Doesn't help that Ox is injured as he's the only direct replacement
So, general concensus is to rest him, which I agree with. It's not as if we are short in his position now.
We've got Ozil, Cazorla, Walcott, Welbeck that can all cover this.
Would be happy to see him rested against Newcastle!!

Sometimes players, even very very good ones, just go through bad patches of form. It's not always down to some external mental, physical or tactical factor. It's just the vagaries of sporting performance.
Not to say that a rest couldn't do him some good, but he hardly seems physically struggling from what I can see, at least not more than any other player at this point of the season.
Lot of matches on the back of a world cup is all I think.
Class is permanent and he is most definitely class.
He carried us through the first half of the season and needs a couple of games off.
He plays at such a high intensity that it can't be possible to maintain that standard.
I will admit I was swearing at him last night because he just kept running into walls and losing the ball. I blame Wenger for leaving him on too long and too often.
