Without the full quote or full interview it is difficult to judge... But it does seem like he's tried to pull off the 'playful arrogance' that someone like Ronaldo or Ibra would try to do.
What a load of tosh. He said he is concentrating on his own career.
Where does he say screw our fans, club and country
Stop reading the red top rags. They are very misleading just like our politicians and police forces.
Maybe he's a little worried Kane could take his place
Sure, concentrate on your career but that doesnt mean he has to pay total disregard to everyone around him, and the England setup
Yeah this is a sharticle
As it could easily be interpreted (if we go by the OP's standards) that his own game, and working on that to please the fans and his club is more important. He is solely focussed on being the best he can be and being a loyal servant to both England and Liverpool.
But of course this might not be what he means, but then neither me or the OP are actually Daniel Sturridge. Im just using the same rules of interpretation and artistic licence that the OP does
He explicitly says he doesn't care who comes through
Because he is focussed on his own game and being the best he can to serve the Liverpool and England fans....
or not...but you cant say for sure which is correct can you?

Don't know why he's so arrogant, he had one good season because he had world class player alongside him.
Thinks he's ronaldo already
So instead of seeing my point that maybe you (or what you have read) has interpreted a certain way, you just ignore that there could be another point of view. The problem is you (or I) have no way of knowing...
you have decided you are right and want to through slurs around..
good intelligent argument you make!
"because you are at war with yourself".
I think this is the operative phrase here. I can see where he's coming from. There's so much pressure on footballers these days that I don't blame him for concentrating on himself. Sure, he's injected a bit of bravado into what he's saying to sound flippant and aloof and it kind of makes what he says just sound arrogant, but his general reasoning is sound. If you worried about every new player coming up around you you probably wouldn't sleep at night
Read the article all the way through OP. He has no issue with England. He has no issue with our fans or club as you have stated to try and cause a heated debate on here
Same with sterling, had one good season and thinks he should be on 200k a week
Think they've all been listening to Rodgers hyperbole too much

I think you are being unfair picking out a few comments from a long interview. If anyone is interested in what he has to say in more detail:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2994918/Roy-Hodgson-wasn-t-blame-injury-unfortunate-incident-says-Liverpool-striker-Daniel-Sturridge.html

Cal...
he isnt interested in the full interview or any opinion that may differ from what he has decided about Sturridge in some weird studgeVkane war in his little head.

arhhh its a whole Liverpool thing??
And no you have been exposed with such a poor article you are looking for a fight.
now i understand
im sorry this didnt work for you OP
better luck next time.
But he might have to play with Kane on the pitch, surely he needs to at least see what type of game he plays etc? These guys aren't tennis players playing in isolation, they're part of a team!!
And so by disregarding fellow England players he won't be serving country to the best of his abilities, that's my point.
The sterling thing was just an aside
Yeah I know OP i think 'they've all been listening to Rodgers hyperbole too much'
Nothing wrong with that. Football is a selfish sport in many ways. Sturridge being out injured must think in his mind Kane could take his place, which promoted the quotes. Maybe the question was set so he'd say that

I see nothing wrong with it..
Kane shouldn't care about Sterling or Sturridge.
Well done to them...but should he care?
Do you care what your opposite in another company is doing somewhere in Liverpool?

Isn't that what England training camps are for, you honestly think Sturridge will go to England training and blank every player?
Just because he is not watching Kane (or other players not a Liverpool) with a microscope doesn't mean he won't work hard with said players at England training.
