it's often hard for players to come here and make an immediate impact. I just don't see any real improvement in the lads game though.

He has certainly toughened up a bit, has that edge to him, and definitely has talent, but he seems to play on a completely different wavelength.

I'd see how the next couple of games go, and if we are still massively behind the 4 CL spots I'd be willing to go flat out for 7th and hope for a Villa cup win

If we fack up this weekend I think top 4 would be gone. If that happens then I agree with you Chronic. I'm still inclined to persist with Lamela simply because of the transfer fee, although I haven't seen anything to suggest he will come good.

His goal against Burnley was something anyone can do once in a while (see Mabizela vs Leicester or Atouba vs Newcastle)

Yeah I'd say play him. Not as if Chadli and Townsend have been pulling up any trees in the last couple of months so neither can complain about being benched.

I would also give Townsend a run on the left to see if he can be anything other than a pain in the arseeeee

Hmmm.... In the interest of fairness I guess Townsend should be tried on the left, although my gut feeling is that he won't be much use there either. He lacks any kind of intelligence. Reminds me of Walcott from about 5 years ago without the goal threat.

are you serious?

Why shouldn't he be there next season?

If you wanted someone more experienced, who would you have in mind?

Thing that has concerned me with Lamela is that he does not seem to have learnt.

At the season his decision making wasn't there and I think we all imagined it would improve.

Against United at 3-0 down and he had the perfect opportunity to whip in a cross, but decided to take his man on and lost it. Things like that are maddening.

If we get a good offer in the summer I think he could well be off.

I think he'll stay though because I think Poch sees something he likes and he's not been wrong with his player selections often so i'll keep giving Lamela time.

Also Lamela would be behind Soldado, Ade, Kaboul, Chriches, Capoue, Paulinho, Stambouli and Lennon in the list of players we want to get rid of.

Dave and Danny

I have a good idea let's get rid of Poch and bring in Warnock, he's got a lot of experience...........at Failure.
