TB - it wasn't Kasper's worst effort at a cross/flick by any stretch of the imagination. I just think Hamer could well have got more on it, just because he's bigger. Schwarzer is too, but being less agile these days I'm not so sure he'd have done any better.
I've thought we're probably going down since the loss against Palace. Which doesn't mean to say I'm still not hoping for a miracle, I agree we're not playing that badly overall but we have to do what we've found difficult all season - win games, and regularly from now until the end of the season!
I can't help but think that when the inevitable does eventually happen, True Blue is going to take it very hard. At least those of us who are resigned to our fate won't be quite so cut up when it happens.
Better to be pessimistic and be pleasantly surprised then overly hopeful and be left thoroughly disappointed.....
BS - you obviously missed the irony of the "abandoned ship" analogy after your Titanic comments.
Foxello can't be further from the truth ( well, nothing new there ), after 5 minutes against Everton ( first match of the season ) I realised how massive our task was, the individual quality and skill of each Everton player seeing them live made ours look like Sunday League players.
I knew then how hard this season would be and so in reality I knew we could well get relegated, that doesn't stop my belief and faith in our Club to survive the drop though, a belief I still hold.
If we get relegated though I will have still have enjoyed the season, seeing us beat Man Utd in the way we did will live with me forever and the joy my 2 lads showed is a single memory to treasure, I never ever believed we'd be singing "we want 6" against Utd.
Now I know the " what's one game if we get relegated" comments will follow but I'd add that I've felt the players and management have given their all, I've never been embarrassed by anything that's happened this season on or off the pitch and I've enjoyed most matches.
I almost feel sorry for some fans who just seem to look for the negative the whole time, how sad that they can't find enjoyment in being in the PL however hard the season turned out to be.
So, if we get relegated I'll be gutted BUT my belief will be we can get back up next year or the year after and the Club will have learnt from mistakes made and go back up ready and experienced for the PL.
I'd also point out while I agree with giving Pearson the season ( and possibly next ) I did say before Xmas in response to BS I believe it was that I'd have no complaints if NP was sacked after we lost the next match.
I must admit though, I'd pee myself laughing if NP is our Manager next season whether we stay up or not.
TB in my experience of supporting our club a lot of paying punters are much happier it seems when we are not doing well.
I would describe myself as the cup half full. But no matter how i try i cant come to terms with our manager i was prepared to put up with his belligerence when we where doing well but he has let the club and himself down this season. In my opinion its not just doing the job its how you do the job that's just as important.
You are right my boy (well man) and i will put the Mank Utd in my top ten city games of all time.
If we had played like we did at Spurs despite the poor defending, i would be happier to see us relegated rather than the pedantic poor football we have been playing.
There is still hope but a lose to any of the three teams above us will end that.
TB - interesting to see the rationale behind your posts, I'm actually quite close to your thoughts.
Certainly agree on relegation/promotion then staying up because he's learnt. Also looking at the classy performance from Everton to start the season. Have they got worse, us better or a mixture of the two?
TB apologies I didn't think you did irony.
Look I've enjoyed some of this season, the 5-3 win at the KP was incredible and it was amazing to be there. But at the same time, it's not a day trip. It's not like we're here for a bit of fun before returning to championship normality. Therefore it's hard to expect fans to be enjoying only winning 4 games this season.
What confuses me about you is your need to have a pop at people who are frustrated and who do believe this season is in some ways a missed opportunity. Foxello makes some very good points here but you shoot him down at every opportunity because he takes a dim view of Pearson
It's like an attendant on said titanic shouting at passengers who are panicking about drowning with the ship...
BS - there are few posters I take exception to but Foxello is obviously one of them, you know the history of the last couple of seasons with his statements which were proved totally wrong, now he crawls back out from under his rock when times are hard with the same old carp, of course he might be right this time with the toughness of this league but it doesn't mean I have to agree with anything he says.
I should add that what I really take exception to is the half truths that abound on here made out as fact as part of the anti NP "propaganda" and I do respond to them as can be seen with Nev recently.
So what if his statements were proved wrong? They were his opinions and at least he had the humility to admit he was wrong and apologise on this board- something I've yet to see you do and you've been pretty harsh on certain people here.
Of you don't have to agree with what he says but you approach his posts in the same way as others you take exception to - sarcasm and arrogance. For me you're no better than JG in that respect which is ironic considering how much you can't stand him
Agreed on the half truths, but why not just challenge them in a way that encourages debate. Why not use sound reasoning, questions and logic rather than abrasive sarcasm.
Probably because I don't think they are worth the debate, remember that most labels come from that type of poster.
". Also looking at the classy performance from Everton to start the season. Have they got worse, us better or a mixture of the two?"
I think it's a mixture of both, we have definitely got better BUT not by enough, of course, I'm deluded because I think getting draw and almost winning away at Everton is a good result!
JG levels of arrogance there TB..... Are these posters not worth anything other than sarcastic dismissal then? That's no better than JG selecting who he responds to. Not worth the debate.....wow
Not when their point of view is so single minded ad blinkered, no.
Lol, so they're not worth your time TB. Fair enough. It might save everyone else's time though if you just let them get on with it rather than sarcastically baiting them at every opportunity.
"Not when their point of view is so single minded ad blinkered, no."
Well no one could accuse you of that TB.
Sorry am i doing a TB, TB your longer responses and views has given more validity to you opinions imo
