How do Newcastle even enter this discussion of Biggest Clubs???!!!??? They've won ZERO, SQUAT, NAFF ALL!!!!! Right now Spurs are more successful than Villa and Everton in the league but in terms of size and history. Villa just shade Everton and splat spuds. Villa are the 4th most successfull club in England behind Pool, Utd and Arsenal so END OF!!

BASED ON SUCCESS EVERTON ARE 4TH MOST DECORATED CLUB IN THE LAND.

IN TERMS OF SUPPORT, I WOULD SAY NEWCASTLE AS THATS ALL ITS RESIDENTS HAVE IN THEIR LIFE.

IN TERMS OF MEDIA BIAS, SPURS AS THEY ARE FROM LONDON, HOWEVER BOTH THE AFOREMENTIONED ARE PRETTY MUCH MICKEY MOUSE CLUBS.

Villa and Everton have won far more than Tottenham, but Villa won most of their trophies a long time ago. However, we've still won about as many trophies as Tottenham in the last 50 years, including the European Cup.

I'd say Everton are first having won most of their trophies recently, with Villa second and Tottenham third. But right now Tottenham are obviously ahead of both Villa and Everton by quite some way. It doesn't seem quite right why this has happened, and I hope either we or Everton can fix it. Spurs were midtable a few years ago and I think they'll go back to that level sometime in the future and Everton and Villa will overtake them. Football is cyclical after all.

Newcastle!

King of the Lane,
I am sure Bucharest once bored the pants of everyone to win the EC. So how come you say we are the lowest rated team to win the EC? imo Everton, Leeds, Man city and us [Villa] are all on equal standing in the game. Then come the next batch Spurs, Newcastle, Wolves, Sheff Wednesday all massive clubs in their own rights, present circumstances excepted for wednesday and wolves, but neverless still big big clubs.

id like to say Everton, but to be honest, were not in the same category as those teams, we are now in the same bracket as blackburn, wigan and the likes of wolves.

Sorry my statement was a bit ambiguous. The year that Villa won it, they finished lower in their domestic league - 11th i think - than any other winner ever.

I've listed the accomplishments of Spurs Vs Villa since 1925 above. You'll see that Spurs have won far more. The disparity remains the same when totting up the trophies from the last 50 years too.

If you follow the link that I posted, you'll see that the survey counts the number of people nationwide who consider themselves to "support" a club; not just those that attend matches. Personally I think this gives a far more accurate representation of the size of a club's fan base than just simply counting those that attend matches.
