Oh and Derby fans sorry, I originally tagged you in but it said I had too many clubs so one had to go, It wasn't going to be Leicester and you were nearest to the cursor

Dirby and the trees where part of that golden era of midland soccer i watched on the Sunday afternoons of my youth. Where teams like them and Ipswitch could win the league and we could reasonably dream of it.
Until we win the FA Cup they will always be historically bigger than us. Next seasons highlight will be playing our (if not their )rivals again.

Interesting that Notts County rate higher than Brighton Hove Albion?

Nott's county where the original east midlands big club

That's an interesting viewpoint Nev, and I see things a different way. I don't know whether it's just because I was born after Clough's era, but it's always felt (dare I say it) a bit irrelevant to me - much like the Bloomfield era at Leicester. That's not to say that I can't appreciate the respective achievements, but I don't have any emotional attachment to it. All I've seen in my lifetime in the East Midlands are three similar-sized clubs, with similar goals and aspirations.

As far as rivalries go, they can be entertaining but I see little point in trying to force the issue. If Forest and Derby don't care for even a geographical rivalry with us then that's not a big deal for me. I've never particularly liked the so-called derby games anyway, and I'm happy for us to simply represent Leicester/Leicestershire against the rest of the country.

I understand that but to be a big club there are only to things you need to have done won the league,FA cup or European cups. The milk cup is good but no cigar.
The team that really think of us as localrivals are Peterboro and we don't view them as anything but they "really ate us Tommy"

I agree Man Utd are bigger than us

Peterborough are too far away to be considered local anything. The only reason we took any interest in them in the first place was because they were one of the geographically closest teams to us in League 1.

Coventry is the more obvious rivalry, but the problem there is more one of East Midlands vs. West Midlands - I always find that we just don't have anything in common as cities so nobody really cares.

In a similar way, a good proportion of Forest fans look on playing Leicester as they do when playing a South Yorks or West Mids team, same region but not local. No direct road links the cities so they don't have a lot to do with each other. Have had some great games over years and the atmosphere is always good but it isn't as gut wrenchingly all encompassing like when it's Forest v Derby.

We could amalgamate and become East Midlands United

Cheers for this, makes interesting reading but am not sure how many facts they use.

'plus current ongoing membership of the Premier League'

My favourite part of it so far, so if your not in the Premier League have you lost points????

The using social media part for global fan base is also laughable, and not sure about the income part.
It all seems a bit wishy washy further down as well'
'We've used gates historically and for this season????' so have you used an average over all or an average historically and then added the gates this season'

although saying that, it's not a bad table to bandy around and will cause a lot of discussion, particulalry amongst the big boys.

A bit subjective this. Even with things that can be measured How do they have Forest with a lower score (i.e. better) for crowds than Derby? How are Blackburn so high up? Loads of discrepancies, just as well no one takes the Mail as a serious publication.

It would be an interesting idea though once every 4 years take the best players from the

NW
NE
EAST MIDLANDS
WEST MIDLANDS,
GREATER LONDON,
SCOTLAND
WALES and say
SOUTH/EAST ANGLIA and then have a little tournament.

How dirty would you feel cheering alongside your rivals?

posted on 26/3/15

It would be an interesting idea but I think T20 Cricket will beat football to it and will have franchised teams soon.

I thought this was an article about who is the greatest 606 poster, naturally I felt no obvious need to state the obvious......me.

How are Bolton a bigger club than Forest, Leicester or Derby!? Because they have more facebook followers??

Dungeon Master probably not unless it was done by footballing heartlands as opposed to geographically.
