hoorah!!
welcome back smid a level headed rangers fan who says things how they are
although this is a bad week for scottish football its not the worst but saying that rangers and celtic only needed to score 1 goal and they were through should have been possible
but look at the facts rangers have got players in but how far down the list were they id have guessed cuellar goodwillie and miller were top....how far down was bocanegra?
as for celtic we have spent 900k and got 2 bosmans and a loan signing!!
the clubs boards are to cautious and should have spent good few quid in june to get squads sorted for qualifiers especialy rangers as they started in july
I remember and I'm sure you do to:
Celtic beating European heavyweights, getting to a Euro final etc...
It's only 3 years ago Rangers were in one.Why do teams like Porto kick on and we don't???
Naive managers got both teams kicked out.Luckily, one of us is being reprieved
agree 100% m8 the problem is its the suits that make the decisions, year on year we've had bumbling sfa suits telling us what's best for the game.id like to see the fans and the clubs make the calls. If there are no fans there is no football. If the clubs can't see a way forward then the sfa sure as .ck can't. If the clubs stopped following their own objectives and looked at thr bigger picture in sure we could come up with some way of taking our game forward
Difficult to argue with your logic most of it is frustration
and false expectation, as Scots we often dismiss teams
as 'pub teams' because we feel that we should be better. Even the pundits Billy Dodds for example is
still arguing that Rangers could and should have gone
through rubbish two games 1-2 and 1-1 the better team
won the tie. It is just part of our game build them up for a fall and cry afte it happens.
My sentiments also
If one half of the old firm HAD gone through there would have been no neurotics... but just the usual ribbing instead.
We simply CANNOT compete on such an uneven financial ground.... but we BOTH are still amongst the biggest clubs in Europe and the sooner UEFA realise this and even things out then all the better.
football as in life the rich get richer poor get poorer
uefa should let celtic and rangers into group stages of CL for next 5 years no questions asked to get us back on track
5 years with garenteed 15-20mil cl money coming in would sort out both clubs
come on platini do the right thing
smiiiiiiid
i was asking bout ur whereabouts last week my good man
Bhoy my friend, hope you are well.
TCD - Yes your right but they kick on for various reasons. When Celtic made Seville they had a top manager and some top players having spent more money than historically they ever have. Celtics strikeforce that season was Larsson and Sutton, Larsson genuinely World Class and Sutton a 6m signing and England International who had cost over 20m in 3 career transfers. When you have this money and calibre of players you can compete, but this was the exception rather than the norm as Scottish clubs found that they were spending outwith their means. Celtic would not have got anywhere near Seville without spending a bit of money, which is not meant to be disrespectful as it was a fantastic run, but without spending over 20m on the likes of Lennon, Hartson, Sutton & Valgaeren as well as having Larsson and Petrov it would not have been possible.
"If one half of the old firm HAD gone through there would have been no neurotics... but just the usual ribbing instead."
That's right. Both clubs have gone out early in recent recent years. So folk shouldn't get too hysterical because they both do it at the same time. (Though that doesn't mean everything's great, obviously.)
Keny - If I knew you were on here I wouldnt have joined
Just kidding my man, good to see there will be a few people who all Wumming aside will be able to contribute to some good debates and a bit of banter
its quite good on here to be honest mate, lot of the regulars are turning up.
ishmael has been normal as well, dno if hes ill or not.
haha ishmael is a good laugh, what about Ghodfather is he still around? Has he published an article yet saying all will be fine if Celtic bring back Pat McGinnley yet?
Ghodfather was outed as a bear, mate.
aye hes about check my article history for some of our work we were at war the other day, kenysports for all ur transfer news
Shmiiiiiid....... hello and welcome.
Don't believe a word Keny says... I'm far from normal!
Smid. Good to see you on here. You'll like it. A lot more banter and a lot less bile than on the old site.
Difficult to argue with any of your points my man. Shame you weren't around to see some of true Scottish World Cup disasters like Spain 82 and Mexico 86. I am - world cups are great until you get pumped out on goal difference
There is sadly no way out until our youth
Sorry, hit send by accident. It was meant to finish...
... our youth system is sorted out. As long as our kids are taught to just blooter the ball away rather than pass or dribble it could be another 20 years until we are at a decent level again. Sad but possibly true ...
here is sadly no way out until our youth
learn to end their sentences
or learn to muse a computer
or get out of the house and play footy
sorry alba couldn't resist it
ishmael has been normal as well, dno if hes ill or not.
Keny, he has borderline personality disorder, with messianic delusions
smid ger,
I started a thread about Scottish football switching to summer football earlier while they wait for UEFA to step in and expand the CL to spread the money more evenly - if that ever happens.

What's your view on switching to summer soccer in Scotland?
Trollfecker. Mate, the problem is working with an iPhone. Great inventions, no doubt, but the preview button is too close to the send button
