Because that is what being a football fan is all about.
No one actually believes it will happen, but where is the fun in that?
If we hadn't thrown away points in some ridiculous games this season... It's another could of/would of/should of kind of season for us.
Title talk is ridiculous
Regardless of how chelsea are playing, their back four and hazard will grind them out the title
It possible, unlikely but possible, so while it is possible why not have some dream............
We could lose both Fabregas and Matic for our games agst United and Arsenal...........Costa is already out for those games..................It will become clearer after we have played you..................
You beat Palace and QPR home and away only just on all 4 games.
I don't think some people get any joy from football. They seem to follow it out of habit.
City looked out of reach only weeks ago. Grab onto something and hold on for dear life. No brakes on this bus, mate.

This. We have loads of fans like this at arsenal, I blame the invincibles era
It has more to do with Chelsea's frankly shocking form in 2015. A lot is said about Cesc's form, or Matic & Costa but Mourinho's management of the team has been shocking since the turn of the year.
They are rightly the best team in the country based on their consistency but like most teams in the country they have issues that need to be addressed hence talk of them dominating domestically or in Europe for that matter are premature.
The Mourinho managing Chelsea now is a lot inferior to the one who left for Inter. They barely got past liverpool & Spurs in the league cup, was embarrassed in the FA cup and Europe and have stumbled along in the league with an overrated defence and above average attack.
I hate Spurs like the next goober but the way the media dismissed their quite brilliant 5-3 win against them as a fluke tells you how clueless some people are.
Chelsea are rightly the best team in England due to their consistency but the gap is not that big at all.
And lastly, Cuadrado
Oh, Oscar
Of course you guys could win it. Chelsea look a bit knackered and a lot of their players are playing poor football. They still have to come to the Emirates where I think you'll win and have us to play as well.
In the next few weeks they also have to play at a revitalised QPR after this weekends win and also at a side in Leicester who are fighting for their lives.
There's a scenario where Chelsea don't win any of their next 4 games. If that happens you might just push them all the way.
Good luck, after all the abuse that Wenger has gotten over the years I hope you do it.
Well if arsenal are in for it so are United
Only a point behind
I hope we are. But we still have to play City and Everton, two sides we often struggle against.
If QPR take points off Chelsea this weekend and we beat City i'll start to believe.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
Besides, we all know City have made a habit of nicking the title at the death. Twice in three years.

Seriously. That and so they can post online about it.
For the OP to say that other fans showing a bit of belief and hope actually annoys him is just plain weird.
By the way I am 90% sure that Chelsea are still gonna win it, but if they lose to United and then us (unlikely seeing as we never beat them but let's reach a little), things will be looking a lot different. Then the pressure could cause anything to happen.
There is not a chance in hell that we'll overcome a 7-point (10 points when they win their game in hand against Leicester) deficit against Chelsea with just 7 matches left. That feels like more than positive fan optimism. It's ridiculously delusional. And they're not playing nearly as badly as exaggerated. It reminds me of the Man U negative media sensationalism till they thumped Spurs and outclassed Liverpool, who the media were sucking off. I saw Chelsea's Stoke game and they overwhelmed Stoke for most of the tie. The scoreline flattered Stoke and Begovic had a blinder. There was little in the game to suggest Chelsea are on their knees ready to capitulate.
Chelsea have effectively the same lead that Bayern have in Bundesliga and some think we have a realistic chance just because they're not winning every game 5-0?
Why can't fans talk the title challenge? Yes it's a big outside chance but so long it's mathematically possible you always have that lingering hope. I don't expect Chelsea to feck up too badly. They may at most drop 5 points which won't be enough. Arsenal threw away the their realistic chance in first half of season with a couple of dreadful results that come to mind. But the way we are playing in top notch.
Had the first leg vs Monaco not been a massive heck up, we'd also have an outside shot of CL. But it looks increasingly like FA cup and 2nd place is best we can get, which is an improvement on last season and one step closer to obtaining the league.
This year has just shown what we are capable of with our best players playing every week. The fitness at Arsenal is the biggest enemy. I would have us as favourites to win the PL next year on this form.
I remember at one point we had 8-9 first team players out
Obviously it's not likely but there's a small chance we can win it especially with a few g ames to go strange things can happen... I doubt anyone thinks we're favourites or will be slitting their wrists if we don't win! Killjoy
I don't know whats worse. Getting close whilst not actually challenging at any time or comfortably making the top 4 as we normally do.
What about last season, 128 days at the top, was it worth getting excited then about the title? Or was that false hope?
There is no chance we will win the league. If we finish 2nd and win the FA Cup we should be delighted. Consider what City and United have spent over the last few years and it will be a good achievement and hopefully something to build on.
For years I have dreaded the start of every seaaon because I feel we are so far off the big boys, but not anymore. 1 or 2 top signings and we will challenge the big boys all the way. Obviously we need to keep hold of Santi, Theo, Per and Szczesney who have been linked away.
