In recent years it is after the season has finished when we have had problems with players wanting to leave: Berbatov, Modric, Bale...............................
Its weird whats going on at Liverpool. Sterling won't sign, Balotelli apparently withdrew himself from the squad at the weekend, I even read somewhere that Jordan facking henderson is demanding over £100k a week to extend his contract.
only interested in the FA CUP NOW,couldnt give hoot about 2nd/3rd or 4th

2nd place was possible at the time. I like our manager to aim high. Why not?

To move from a position of predicting 2nd and then no better than 5th in 3 weeks means that it was a silly and ill advised prediction. There was no need to have gone public in that way.

It was hardly the Rafa "we will finish 4th guarantee" was it?
2 games ago we were 4 points behind City so 2nd was clearly achievable and like I said I want my manager to aim high. It's obviously gone back to bite him now but so what?
why aren't the media questioning Rodgers for his abject failure this season?
failure against what he himself has said in the past that is.. which is even worse
when spurs spend 100mill... "should be competing for title"
when Liverpool spend 100mill "takes time to gel"
"Liverpool can finish top 2"
"top 4 is unlikely"
hes such an dislikeable character too... its baffling why the media are not pulling him up.
yep. Aim as high as you can. We had just beaten city so there's no problem with that, it was possible at the time.
not sure what problem the op has with it to be honest.

If you examine Rogers's various comments over the season you will see that he's a bit silly.
Regarding your goal keeper, he stated that he has been dropped indefinitely! A couple of weeks later he had to recall him due to injury.
He has, in my view, hung Sterling out to dry by commenting about contract talks. and then there's the "we can finish second" debacle.
I think he's too busy trying to be a media darling.
Just a view from the "outside"!
not sure what problem the op has with it to be honest.
=======================
I Dont see a problem there,we were flying until the injurys and suspensions
not really seeing the issue
desperate article
Don't get this.
How high can you finish?
Right now second.
What's wrong with that? Just words innit.

?
So he should not have started a first team goalkeeper when needed?
Bit of desperation stakes here for the OP.
Anything lower than 4th and Roy Rodgers has under achieved, he is the 4th highest spender on players after all.
His problem is he has been nothing short of dire in the transfer market, you can count on the fingers of one hand his successful purchases, the rest have been massively over priced and ordinary.
The media will leave him alone, Pool are their darlings, they very rarely put a negative spin on anything to do with Liverpool, if at all.
Yeah there is nothing negative in the papers is there? Of course there is!
The only difference is that we get more column inches and Spurs don't get those because no-one really cares.
Nothing wrong with what Rodgers says but is always a good fest if the results that follow are not good. LVG said the same thing virtually after we lost to Arsenal in the FA Cup as in finishing ahead of Man City and everyone laughed.
Zzzzzzzzz....... More talk about Liverpool....,

I have some respect for Rodgers as a manager as he seems capable of adapting and sorting out problems.
This season they looked weak at the back, had some players off form but he changed the system and they improved a lot and now have a very solid base. The goal scoring has suffered as a result but they went on a good run.
Spurs defence has been dire all season and while it is clear the personnel are not right, there seems to have been little progress in addressing the issue and definitely no threat of a tactical change. This is one of my biggest concerns going forward with Poch is that he has his way and rarely varies from it (but so does Jose so its not a disaster), but at least Rodgers changed things around to address the problem.
Having said that it's Rodgers personality that really puts me off the guy...always in the media, always passing comment, almost weekly interviews with sheite like Talksport....he just seems so media hungry. When you consider this alongside his obvious vanity, you start to get the impression of someone who is a bit far up his own arris.
A lot of what he says is BS and performs frequent U-turns, all of which gives him the sense of being a bit of a gobsheite.........and to top it all off, this large ego is backed up by winning the sum total of nothing.
Basically, he has not achieved enough to justify him acting like some sort of senior footballing Statesman, which, by his actions, he seems to think he is.
I reckon Merson and Lawro would have both predicted Man utd to lose to Man City and Chelsea but since form change I am now thinking they will want both Manchester clubs to drop points as we are so close so Liverpool can catch up so I reckon Lawro will predict Man utd 1-1 Man City and Merson predicts Man utd 2-2 Man City. Lawro will predict Chelsea 3-1 Man utd and Merson will predict Chelsea 2-1 Man utd.
