Sterling is massive hypejob and utterly average, he's the second coming of Nathan Dyer.
But Fio is trash as well. Get rid of Fio and sign a proper replacement.
I'm not for selling unless it's podolski and sanogo.
And with the new home grown rules keeping our English players will now be quite important. Especially English players that are still useful.
The 'new home grown rules' will never come in. They are flimsy, don't solve any problems, and are anti-clubs.
Top article, wasn't long ago that our season fell apart and people were cursing his loss. After 12 months out , he's expected continue as he left of, it doesn't work like that!.
To many on this site that would hang someone before a trial.
It's classic arsenal fans.
One minute he is the first name on the teamsheet and then he is deemed to be not good enough for the team.
The same posters who were applauding walcott are the same one now calling for him to be sold
There's only one "Speedster" in the EPL and he's ours. Maybe 2 but the other one is a lil Spaniard who also plays for Arsenal.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Got a rapper on the books have you
Why are all Arsenal players always better than every other player, according to Arsenal fans? The Article on the United board about who is the worst group of posters on 606 was made because of articles like this
I'd like to keep him but he doesn't deserve a raise and is definitely not a starter anymore regardless of form because of Alexis, Ox brings balance to the other wing and has more ability.
Good article and I hope he stays but £130k a week for a squad player....I can see why the club are dragging this out. Wouldn't like to see him elsewhere though
Also his side should lighten up he has no right to hold us to ransom this time around
The fact that Wenger chose to play Ramsey on the right side against Liverpool means Wenger has drawn the line in the sand.....either Theo signs what the club has offered him or he should be ready to be moved on in the summer.
I prefer Sterling to Walcott.
He needs to work on his end-product, but Sterling's dribbling and defensive contribution far exceed that of Walcott, and I personally think he has the potential to be a truly world-class player.
That's not to say I want Walcott to leave, however.
Wenger seems to be the one with a short memory.
In 12-13, Walcott was one of the best players in the league.
But long term injuries have ruined many a good player.
I think you should definitely keep him next season after a full pre-season to see if he can return to form.
Wouldn't make much sense to sell him this summer.
I know he is out of contract in 2016 but if he is playing well you can sort out a new deal in the year.
If he isn't just let him move on for free. You have already had your money's worth for the fee paid.
I think there's a vibe about Arsenal now, it may be a step down for Walcott to move elsewhere. The good times I think will be coming back. As long as you're always second best to Liverpool, mind you.

"Raheem Sterling is not currently better than Theo
Walcott."
'Better' is subjective. A player who plays nearly every match is definitely a better player to have in your squad than a player who spends most of the season on the treatment table.
So in that respect, Sterling is definitely better that Walcott.

I'm still undecided on Sterling. I think next season will be the true test of his quality. I wouldn't say no to us signing him but he's one for the future at Arsenal. We have too many players ahead of him on the development curve and it could be argued that he's no stronger than our weakest option in Ox.
So with all that in mind, I can't see him wanting Arsenal because the fact is he can't get into the starting 11 with everyone fit. But hey if we're crazy enough to pay him silly money for bench warming and he's crazy enough to move to a backup slot from starter, then why not. Gotta keep Theo though.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then why has he not managed to post better numbers in a whole season than Walcott managed in half a season
Subjective indeed.
Ox is not more productive than Theo, playing down the right. And for that matter neither is Sanchez. Ideally it's Sanchez left and Theo Right. Ox, if those are the positions being discussed, then he's on the bench.
-------------
FFS this isn't fifa can't just have 2 forwards on the flank whilst a luxury player like Ozil is in the middle. This is why Welbeck/Ox are preferred as they have the attributes of a wide midfielder than Theo does. It also helps our ball retention.
You should know this is Arsène's way by now was the same with Overmars/Parlour. Theo's biggest problem is Alexis despite playing opposite sides they both have the same roles as inside-forwards both play that role differently but ultimately it's the same job and Alexis is better all there is to it
No, Welbeck and Ox are preferred because Theo hasn't been playing for a year. This is what I mean about forgetting Theo. You talk like Ox or Welbeck could keep him out of the team when he's at the top of his game. Theo on form, they get benched, simple.
You are the man in love with Ozil and how he plays so you, better than anyone should know matching him with Theo' runs in behind and pace is a dream. And sorry but it doesn't matter which. Welbeck, Ox or even Sanchez, none of them can match Walcott for getting in behind and leaving the back line for dust. He's actually become one of the best there is, if not the best at doing that. As demonstrated immediately upon his return.
I'm very sure Ozil doesn't want Walcott going anywhere. No doubt he's thinking of the double figures assists he'll be hitting once Theo's firing again and he's picking him out for fun.
And you've certainly forgotten that in his last playing season, Theo had indeed started tracking back more and carrying out a lot more defensive duty. For god's sake, it was chasing back in the Spurs game that got him injured.
I don't want to sell Theo for the record but he hasn't been playing due to the options believe me if he was still a starter Arsene will ensure he gains enough fitness. Giroud, Ozil and soon to be Jack all have been forced back into the line up after injury despite their replacements doing well enough.
Alexis has replaced Theo all there is to it Ox and Welbz aren't his main competition despite playing on the right. I like Ox think he can become world class and if he can develop his attacking instincts the way Theo has then we have a much better player to work with.
In regards to Alexis vs Theo it's a one way battle meaning the club have a decision on whether a squad player is worth 130k a week.
He's had a lack of involvement due to injury in the last couple of months he's just no longer a big part of Arsène's plans doesn't mean they wanna sell him.
Still think he's the best option for Ozil I agree but I don't agree he's a justified starter anymore because Alexis is better it's not complicated
People like you think this is FIFA where you can play 3 out and out forwards in the team whilst having a luxury player like Ozil in a free role. That leaves us more or less with a 2 man midfield.
Ox and Welbz bring balance to that with their ball retention and defensive work rate.

Tbh, I think Sterling is very underrated by English fans.
I'm going to copy and paste part of an argument I wrote on Sterling a few weeks ago, so sorry if not all of it is entirely relevant to your comment, but:
-----------------------------------------
He was ranked as the best performing teenager across the major leagues in Europe by Whoscored.com last season, the second best by Squawka, and was later voted by a select of journalists from across the continent as the best Under-21 player in Europe as he won the 'European Golden Boy' award.
Ancelotti has described Sterling as 'one of the best in Europe', whilst Wenger described him as 'one of the great players in England'.
He's now being strongly linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Madrid, and PSG, with Xavi also earmarking him as a potential future Barcelona player.
Thus far this season, he's statistically the highest ranked player of his age (or younger) in the country according to Whoscored and Squawka, and the second best player of a comparable age in Europe as a whole by Squawka's performance score rankings.
He needs to work on his end-product, but the materials are there for a world-class player.
His speed is comparable to Walcott with one of the best turns of pace I've seen (remember how easily he burst past Salah), but he has great strength to match as well (just ask Vincent Kompany, for example); he can run faster with the ball at his feet than many players can without, and he's already one of the most prolific dribblers in the league; he seems equally comfortable taking his man on down the outside or drifting inside into space, which makes his movements very difficult to anticipate/defend against; he's comfortable making diagonal runs in-behind, drifting in-between the lines into pockets of space, and/or holding the width and isolating the full-back like a more pragmatic winger, allowing him to adapt to various systems and game-plans, but also make him very difficult for the opposition to plan for; and his work-rate and defensive qualities and very underappreciated (he's played wing-back on a number of occasions).
I don't think he's quite reached the heights he did last season (when he was instrumental - along with Suarez et al - in Liverpool's late title charge), but this is likely symptomatic of the difficulties Liverpool as a whole have had this season (large influx of new players; loss of Suarez and injuries - particularly to Sturridge; Rodgers' tinkering of the system) as well as the fact that he's been switched across 6 different positions across the season (both wings, both wing-backs, behind the striker, and as the striker), but his talent is still clear to see.
------------------------------
Sorry for the wall of text, and I appreciate some of it may seem out of place, so apologies for that - I tend to spend too much time rambling on this forum, so I thought it was a good time-saving measure.
I appreciate football is all about opinions, so there's no stats that I can throw out there that can objectively prove my point, but nevertheless, I feel there is a good argument in there that not only is he currently a very good player, but also that he's considered one of the most talented young players in football.
One of the things I like most about him is his versatility and adaptability. We currently lack anyone who seems comfortable driving past his man down the left-flank. Sanchez has spent most of the season playing this position, but when we have our backs against the wall, his tendency to cut inside can really play us into trouble (like when he dribbles in-field in our own third when defending) and also slows up our counter-attacking play. Sterling is very comfortable playing as an inside-forward or drifting between the lines, but also has the ability to take his man on down the outside like a traditional winger when needed.
With his talent and adaptability, I think he could be an incredible player to have in the squad and would probably play a large portion of our games. Not that I think we'll get him - just that he'd be a great addition if we were somehow able to pull it off.
