There's a flip side to that coin.
What happens to Arsenal when they need a result in a BIG game?
This pattern seems to still be occurring.
Even to their surprise, they beat UTD in the cup.
So the doubt is still there.
Watch what happens against UTD if it's still on the line.
They are still scared of UTD.
As for the Liverpool result, for sure that was a fantastic performance by them, but I've seen that old movie many a time from a 'Relaxed' arsenal.
If had to put money on the Arsenal United game I would bet on Arsenal to win or atleast draw. It's at Old Trafford and very United could easily win but if I was pushed I'd take Arsenal's side for the win going by what we have seen so far.

Francis Coquelin
***************************
What does Coquelin bring in particular? Leadership?
The Coq is able to cover a lot of ground and has surprisingly good positional sense. Couple that with being tenacious in the tackle and vocal in the heart of our midfield.
Regarding the bit about us not falling apart mid to late season that's not really a sign of anything. We blew it early on and have done well to get to second place but we've had similar seasons before and we need to be good all season not just half of one.
we bottled the champions league and the league early on, we still do better when under no pressure.
we seem to be getting better but the real tests still await us.
This Stringerbell guy appears to be living in the past.
I think it's anyone's game at the OT. An away win wouldn't surprise me. I think it'll be a 3-3. Might be good for Liverpool's slender hopes.
Cazorla recently said: When we defend as a team and unit we are very difficult to beat. There is your answer.
Watch what happens against UTD if it's still on the line.

Eh we've beat City, United away, Liverpool at home and lost at WHL. That's 3 big wins out of 4. Think the days of being humbled by the big boys are gone.

Every team has freak results that go against the norm. Spurs beating Chelsea @ the bridge, Arsenal beating Utd @ at old trafford, MK Dons beating Utd. Villa beating Liverpool @ Anfield. Saints beating Arsenal @ the emirates.
Don't let a few wins this season cloud your judgement. Things usually return to normal after a year or 2.
Look @ the difference between this season & last for the following teams.
Liverpool, United, Everton, Arsenal.
United had an off season last year and are now there or there abouts.
Liverpool were punching above their weight last year but are improving on previous seasons. Having said that, they beat United, Spurs (twice), City, Arsenal last season so you can't take 1 season's results as a benchmark.
Everton are having a shocker this season.
Arsenal could very well be back scrapping for 4th next season and could again struggle against the teams around them.
There won't be much on the line by the time we play United.

Spurs beat Chelsea at White Hart Lane!
Pundits have said that they have 'never seen this arsenal before'. Erm yes we have. The end of the 2012/13 season for instance we had a very good form and defensive record.
The squad is very very good. The best since the invincibles but the team is still a mess. The midfield has no chemistry (Rambo, Jack, Ozil and Caz).

A bit OTT there but I see where you're coming from. I think a top winger would solve that. Too often we are forced to fit 3/4 of them in when 2 would be ideal. When fit they're too good to leave out in this squad but we end up with 1 of them wide which isn't ideal.

WTF are you on about? You don't win 11 out of 12 games with no chemistry in midfield, it's impossible.
The OP was obviously surprised at the result at the weekend as he was predicting a draw or liverpool win. I feel liverpool fans are being hard on themselves as I doubt they had any chance of winning at the Emirates esp with the players missing. The real disappointment was losing to United at home.
To answer your questions I'm not convinced we have leaders on the pitch at the moment but some players like Coq and Santi are definitely acting like leaders.
At the moment Wenger is the reason for our steel due to his subtle tactical changes and keeping players on their toes with healthy competition for places. We are simply our scoring teams.
