Team of the Season

As a Chelsea fan I wouldn't put Cahill in the team, he was excellent last year, not so good this season.

All the other Chelsea players you could make a strong case for, Hazard and Terry are shoe ins.

De Gea, Clyne, Sanchez and Kane I'd also agree with.

Costa yes, Matic and Fabregas have gone off the boil a bit at the tail end but proabably make it for me.

Alexis Matic Cazorla Hazard

7 Chelsea players is too much. Cahill? The same Cahill many Chelsea fans want replaced by Zouma?

Cahill doesn't deserve to be in there.
Bertrand ahead of Azpilicueta possibly, the Saints have a better defence after all.
Wouldn't say Aguero deserves to be in there. Maybe Austin and Kane should be front two.

There hasn't been a great deal of stand out performers, tbf.
Hazard has been Chelsea's best player by a distance.
de Gea is easily Uniteds POTS.
City have not really had a consistent stand out.
Arsenal probably have the closest run POTS out of the top 6, but mainly because Alexis has faded.
Not sure who Liverpools is, while Spurs POTS is obviously Kane.

Is this PL or all comps?

Cahill is probably one of the most disappointing players this season, gone backwards in his performances.

Id go

De Gea
Ivanovic Fonte Terry Bertrand
Sanchez Carrick Coutinho Hazard
Costa Kane

Has Matic been any good since new year? He was very good for half a season, but if Coq keeps up his form, then i'd rank his half season as better than Matic's.

Coutinho? Seriously?!

posted on 10/4/15

Yea i think hes one of the only reasons Liverpool were even close to top 4 until the Utd/Arsenal games... as much as i dislike them

Don't think Coutinho has been close to players like David Silva, Santi Cazorla or Fabregas.

Also, how many games has Carrick played?

Agree, but that doesnt give him the right to be in the team of the season.
By that logic, then Fabregas should be in there because he is the reason Chelsea were flying high until January. Or Cazorla because he is the reason Arsenal have been on a great run.

Id maybe swap Silva and Coutinho, but admittedly im abit bias with Carrick, just think hes a brilliant footballer who brings a great balance to any side hed play in.

Sanchez Cazorla Matic Hazard

Seems odd not to put a Liverpool player in there.

Coutinho hasn't even been Liverpool's best player. Should be nowhere near TOTS.

Couldn't think of a decent CB to go with Terry. Koscielny is probably a good shout. Not sure about Fonte, haven't seen too much of Southampton but has he been all that good since the first couple of months of the season when he was excellent? Genuine question.

Would put Silva there for City's POTS he has been the only one consistently good. Would argue Lloris for ours tbh.

Some reluctancy to put Southampton defenders in despite their excellent defensive record this season.

Forgot about him. Seem to remember he was a massive miss for them when he was injured.

A good team, handsomely picked.
