I see your point but I personally think that you should always put out your best team for the important games and with Arsenal winning today getting something tomorrow is now very important. If they do play they will obviously have it drilled into them to be highly disciplined and try to stay out of trouble.
So I say that we should play them and be dammed!!
Jose has already said they will play. While I realise games against title rivals are potentially six pointers with the league firmly in our own hands three points is still three points regardless of where they come from.
Rangers could be a tricky albeit winnable game and we could regret protecting players should we fail to win and at this stage of the season losing to Rangers with those two games coming up would be a huge mental blow, the team would be nervy and rivals would be given a boost.
We take one game at a time and keep picking up the points, with each win we make it tougher for anyone to be able to do anything about us, we can actually afford to lose those games too providing we win the rest.
I just worry about a possible midfield of Mikel and Ramires against a very in form United and Arsenal.
You lot can relax. You have more than enough of a cushion to win this bloody league title.
Supergoon - true, but it would be nice to wrap it all up as soon as possible
Not ideal of course but but as I said we can afford to lose stick those games providing we pick up the points elsewhere, we 'guarantee' the easy points IMO since the league is in our own hands, it is the pragmatic approach, the Jose way.
We of course hope to have them availible and look to win all of them but with the three points in the bag the pressure is on them going in to those games, no point inviting pressure.
If we're missing both Jose can just spoil their game as he normally pulls off and we can back to a more postice game and picking up three points the following week, it's he we'll win this league.
I mean, frankly, you guys should just rest Fabregas, Hazard, Matic, Terry, Courtois, and Cech for the rest of the season. I think that would be best.
Droog - i'm playing Devil's advocate a little bit, as I think we should play them both tomorrow, but as in many instances, the ends justify the means.
I think this is one of those games that would pass Cesc by, Small pitch and all that, Get Matic, Mikel and Ramires in a 3 man midfield.
The wheels are starting to come off...
Caught - had you asked me as a younger man I suspect I'd gave said rest them but I can't help think the view would be misguided by a little naive optimism and bravado. When I look at the situation objectively and play out the various scenarios from all angles I'd rather pick up the immediate points and keep our rivals at arms distance and leave them to sweat on the fewer games left scratching around how they can make up the gap.
Every game that goes by with the gap in tact adds pressure on them, we have the luxury of being able to loose to both of them and as such I see this as the non bravado but pragmatic approach, the smart move and I think this is how Jose sees it. We still have every chance of them being availible and still winning those games but we're not going all in,let's not give them the opportunity to turn these games in to showdowns because that is their only hope, they want tgat because they need it, we can avoid tgat and hopefully that plays in to our hands for those fixtures too.
Play to win each game ... If we loose tomorrow it will just heap pressure on our team for the games ahead . We should field our strongest team so that means playing matic for sure. I d rather be in our position than arsenal city or untd so we just need to keep our heads
And we will win the pl
Maintaining the gap keeps the pressure off. It has to be the priority.
Fabregas won't be a massive miss for Arsenal United, I dare say Jose will prefer Ramires in the pivot anyway. Matic will be the biggest miss, no one wants to rely on Mikel. Unless we have a Zouma, Mikel midfield.

I just worry about these two period...especially Ramires on what he's produced this term....has to go in summer
This game out the way, doesn't the count rise from 10-15 games before ban?.
^Yep, Matic and Cesc now free from the possibility of suspension (barring a red card obviously)
