One thing that will really annoy me is if we wait until deadline day to do the majority of our business, we need new blood and we need them to be joining us in pre-season. We also need to get rid of the dead wood ASAP.
Personally I think Levy is looking to sell up and not really invest anymore, we have our chance to join the big boy table and we blew it.
I know some of them are old but imagine we had kept
Carrick
Berbatov
Modric
Bale
VDV
We would have won things, we didn't we sold them and then brought a load of rubbish to replace them, i don;t see Levy risking being burnt like that again.
Who do you expect your targets to be?
pointless article donald
you are writing as if you are writing fact, when actually you, nor i, nor anyone else here, has even a small club about wtf will happen in summer

Yeah let's get the whinging in early about not spending, after openly being told that we won't be spending huge only a short while ago. There's a small rumour going around that we have a stadium to fund or something, just a small rumour though.
And it makes sense seeing as though he never re-invests into the squad, I mean if only we could sign a 30 goal a season Spanish striker once in a while, or a bright young winger who had just broken into the Argentinian squad. Or Sevillas captain with good European experience as part of a winning team, or a Brazilian midfielder who had just shone at a recent international tournament. Or even if we had a decent striker on loan for a season, if we could take a huge gamble on his wages if he performs for us on loan.
If only he take a chance of investing heavily on some of the players, or that type, listed above then we probably wouldn't be where we are now.
I blame Levy!

Was never the case in the 80s (and at least two occasions where we dared to believe a title was possible) .

I have drawn up a short list of helpful tips for our scouts/Levy/Baldini/whoever is bringing in the players over the summer transfer window:
1) Try asking the manager what players he'd like
2) How about doing things before the last day of the window
3) Brazilians are no so good
4) Croatians are good
5) Let's avoid anyone from Serie A

"4) Croatians are good"
We need to rebalance the Croatian quota.
And on that note, a Croatian acquaintance of mine said that Halilovic (he of the dad allegedly asking Levy to pay for his kids' tuition ) is the real deal as far as being the next Modric goes.
Yeah, this new Belgian contingent brought in to replace the Croatian contingent just isn't the same.
Belgium is not the new Croatia.
I hope I'm wrong but....
We won't sign sufficient quality in the summer. Just replace the average players with more average players. We'll focus on youth and potential rather than experience and more proven players. I expect more of the same next season.
It's the Spurs way, I'm used to the disappointment.
We desperately need some proven quality and leadership at CB and CM in particular, we also badly need some more pace into the team.
Ideally ship out 6 or 7 deadwood and bring in 3 or 4 top proven quality players (ideally with PL experience) and promote some of our most promising younger players into the squad rather than loaning them out.
I fear it will be another revolving door of mediocrity from Levy though.
I expect some very good players this summer they might be names casual fans don't know of but they will be good players. I expect a push of youth and I expect all of the deadwood gone. All of it.
We have never made a change this big in terms of recruitment. Well we have but we have never input so much money into a recruitment team and brung in some many bodies. There not there for a day out.
I am actually excited for once.
