Spurtle I think its the lack of progression, I know the top 4 is probably one of the hardest things to achieve but the endless cycle of get a few good players, decentish manager, miss out on 4th, sell best player, buy 4/5 ok to cr@p players then sack manager at xmas when he loses the dressing room then repeat is growing more boring
This summer is massive, lets hope Baldini goes and MoPo and Mitchel do something decent add that to the ever growing youngsters and we might stand a chance, also maybe missing out on Europa or taking it more seriously maybe be a better option

No I don't think we are all being overly negative, just all massively disappointed another promising season has been able to disintegrate so easily again.
You make some good points though. I have, unlike a lot of our supporters have enjoyed the season in the main, just the past month has been a massive letdown. But then I suppose we should be used to it by now.

I think the players look knackered to be honest, not enough squad rotation particularly with Mason and Bentaleb in cm and Kane looks beat too.
Its been a real slog of a season especially with the Europa, then of course the deflation of losing the cup final.
Even though we have a squad of about 25, some players have either been frozen out (Capoue, Kaboul, Adebayor, Stambouli etc) and the likes of Soldado, Lamela, Davies, Paulinho and Chiriches have hardly been used.
Hopefully in the summer Alli, Pritchard and Caroll will come into the fold and Poch will have 3 or 4 new signings of his choice to come in.
In theory we will have a bigger and better pool of players to pick from next season.

Has it disintegrated though? For the last two months you must have thought you'd finish 5th-7th? That is where you'll finish.

Spot on
If we had played well and lost I would say yes but we have played like a bunch of bandits so no, I don't think we have been overly negative.

Two months ago, Spurs were still in the hunt for top four, in a Cup Final and still had European football. So yes it has disintegrated.
Arrogant of you to think Spurs were not in the hunt for top four, when they were something like 5th or 6th and still with about 15 games to play.
redrob,
Has it disintegrated though? For the last two months you must have thought you'd finish 5th-7th? That is where you'll finish.
====================
I genuinely never contemplated finishing 7th!
5th would be considered acceptable, 6th absolute worst - never as low as 7th.
I know its seems like just a place or 2 but we have to be consistent here. 7th would not have been acceptable under less popular managers so it isn't acceptable now.

Why are we being negative? Spurs are about to fall way short of last season`s points tally and won`t be getting bailed out by favourable refereeing like Liverpool do every year.
There has been no progression whatsoever in my opinion, we are just treading water season after season and are probably playing slightly worse football than under Sherwood.

I don't think we have been. In an ideal world we'd be playing well and winning, but we've probably not played well for about 2 months. Those cracks were papered over in the games we won. In the last 5 or so weeks we've played against:
QPR A
Leicester H
Burnley A
Villa H
That's 4 teams who were probably all 16th and lower when we played them, yet didn't play well in any of them
As I say, when compared to last season there has been an improvement in enjoyment levels. We might not match the 69 points we accumulated last season, but I have enjoyed more aspects of this season regardless.
When I think back to last season and the capitulations to the big teams, the first half of the season which was dire in terms of creating chances despite the wins, and the faltering in all the cups in earlier rounds than this season, it's been better on each count.
Whatever work needs doing next season with the performances, players and managers, we can at least take solace in the fact it's been a little more enjoyable than last season.
Re: Poch not having a plan B as I've read on here and on other threads. In his defence, in order to have a plan B you need decent players to bring off the bench. Look at the players we do have on the bench, and you'll see why he doesn't have much of a plan B.

I disagree. Poch has plenty of players on the books to change his game plan but has simply chosen not to. He even went as far as loaning out a player (Lennon) just because he “allegedly” didn’t fit into Plan A.
