Bellerin and Walcott will wipe the floor of course.

I think the gap between footballers and runners isn't completely as wide as Kilty suggests. I knew top athletes(including national record holders) who work part time in book shops just to get by.

They are not afforded the training or infrastructure that top footballing pros get. I fancy with a bit of technique training, some footballers would be up their with the best.

When i used to run, Jonathan Edwards used to top the AAA rankings due to the fact he was a top 60m runner too. Despite his unassuming body.

I reckon the difference is more telling with long distance runners, they permanently run at about my 100m (probably more realistically 60m these days) flat out speed for multiple kilometres.

He seems quite butt-hurt.

I don't see the benefit in Theo or Bellerin accepting this challenge. It's not like this guy will have a spare 30k to pay out if he loses.

When he loses. Whereas £30,000 is only 2 days wages for Theo

That Kilty guy is an indoor runner. He does't perform on a normal track. No a chance he can win against Bellerin.
Was it not an article saying Bellerin would beat Bolt over 40m? 4.40 compared to 4.60 for Bolt (set in during his 100m WR)?

I must say I am slightly suspicious of the accuracy of Arsenal's timing process. Or the accuracy of the times that have reached the newspapers.

He really does sound bitter, doesn't he? And it's not even the Arsenal players who were making all the noise about how fast they are! Yet he wants to THEM to "put their money down"!

Also very astute of him to say that a 40m sprint race will be over very quickly...

Yeah as a teenager, I clocked under 11s at the track when folk were using stop watches to time the race. When it was laser timed, was always 11.2 and above.

I had a record at 10.87 myself

I was more of a 200m/400m runner though.

Ahh yes sprinting. For stupid people who cant think. Must drive the guy mad knowing that he is nothing more than above average genes doomed to a boring sport. That is why so many sprinters want to be footballers but fail.

Like Bolt.

Anyone else remember when Martin Offiah beat Linford Christie in a sprint?
