I haven't seen any of Dortmund lately, but if Gundogan can find his old from from before his injury, then he'd be on my list. Next season, he'll be entering the final year of his contract.
Reus has just signed a new contract, so would be expensive.
I saw Dortmund once last week, which is abit of rareity for me because I dont tend to watch much european football, but from what I saw of BVB was a team in disarray, not as confident and tactically very naive, especially without the ball.
Individualy I thought Gundogan was ok,as were a few of their players, though Hummels had abit of a shocker.
Personally Klopp and BVB parting ways could in the end be best for both as there did seem to have a air of the inevitable of things coming to a end last week.
Definite - Reus
Yes - Hummels
Maybe - gundogan, piszchek, kagawa, sahin (carrick's long term replacemtn? Although I think veratti is better at the deep lying role)
Having said that, I'm not even sure I rate hummels at all. I'm just going off his reputation as being one of the best ball playing CBs in Europe. From what Iv seen, he looks slow, immobile, too soft and quite frankly, everything opposite of what I'd want in a PL CB
Are the Bender brothers still any good? They were promising defensive midfielders last time I saw them play.
People get too fixated on pace with cb's. Some of the best cb's in PL history have been slow as cart horses.
Terry never had any pace. Vidic wasn't that quick. Carvalho wasn't. Carragher wasn't. Brucey was slow. Some of the famous Arsenal lot weren't that quick either.
They were all quick where it mattered though. Reading the game. That's where it matters most.
Would love Reus. I really like watching him play (granted I dont watch 90 minutes of Dortmund every week though)
It's saddening that for years what has been the only really credible opposition to Bayern's dominance is now going to be picked apart by the vultures from other clubs- not that you can blame them as the transfer market is ruthless.
But I really hope Dortmund return to the Champions League and get fair prices for their players.
Gladbach too possibly.
I wouldn't mind Patrick Herrmann.
Made light work of Dortmund's midfield and defence at the weekend. It was brutal.
Glowing praise for Hummels and Gundogan.
Hard to judge really.
Sometimes a group of players come together and improve eachother, take individuals out of that group and they are different players and never as effective.
They have some very talented players for sure, but how many would be good in England is anyone's guess.
Reus looks great, but is he really much better than Podolski, Schurrle, Kagawa, De Bruyne, none of whom have been particularly successful in England? He also has a horrid injury record, as does Hummels as well really.
I would be wary of Liverpool paying big money for any of them to be honest (not that we are likely to).

I suppose you have not really watched Reus. He is a fantastic talent, in the ilk of Hazard / Sanchez ( i think better). He is Germany's best player.
As for the 'horrid injury record' - there is a ton of stats to suggest otherwise. Sure, he is not as durable as Lampard but his injury record is certainly not 'horrid'.
Because I disagree I haven't watched him?
He is a quality player, but plenty of quality players have failed in England.
I wouldn't want Liverpool to spend a lot of money on him. His recent injury record is worrying and we don't need another sicknote forward, and we can't afford to waste our funds, we have to get more signings spot on.
Get off your high horse.
to say reus wouldnt make it in a different team is odd considering he won german player of the year at borrusia moch.
Yeah reus was let go by the Dortmund youth setup and dragged monchengladbach almost single handedly to 4th before signing back for Dortmund (rejecting bayern in the process). Fantastic player and pick of the bunch.
Doubt he'd come to Liverpool though

----------------------------------------------------------------------
We watched Herrmann a few times last season as I remember. Always seems to pop up with a goal or assist when I watch Bundesliga highlights.
Staying with german football, what's happened to Draxler?
Used to see his name bandied about these boards all the time, not anymore though.
Bender
Aubameyang
As a Spurs fan, the rest would be totally unrealistic I suspect. Otherwise I'd name about 6 more

Stagnated rather than progressed further. Suffered quite a few injuries though.
Piszczek, Sokratis and Gundogan.
I'd just like Klopp at Tottenham.

Injured lots, bad team, negative manager. Wasn't great last season either though, when he was fitter, the team getting better results and had a more attacking style. Domestically this season has been a write-off for Schalke, hopefully everything will improve next season.
