HBO's Mayweather/Pacquiao: At Last

IF that was the one on sky last night it was good viewing if horrifically one-sided in favour of Pacquiao.
Not clued up about which tv/promotion company made this as a teaser but it was close to martyrdom for Pacman whatever happens in the fight.
Great comments from all concerned just very little Mayweather 'tributes' in comparison and let's be honest that boy can chat.
After all the hostility between camps, fans and fighters you could really feel the respect they both had for each other and how much it means to both men, winning the biggest fight for decades suddenly seems so much more important to them than money, hence pacmans quip about drug testing, purse share, equating to giving mayweather his last meal as a condemned man. Boy,the juices are flowing.

_________

This was HBO's documentary and Pacman is a HBO fighter so they were always going to produce with a bias of their own fighter. Showtime are doing the same thing with Floyd as well

It was a good documentary but it wasnt mindblowingly amazing like some are suggesting.

It was in the contract that Floyd demanded, HBO would make a Promo show featuring Pacquiao and Floyd would make a show all about Floyd

I Watched it twice d4. What did you take from it?
Bob Arum had a little segment where he talked about the a/b side and "who cares whether its may v pac or pac v may or who cares, who gets to open the press conference etc"

Seems like Floyd's team were very specific in wanting every little detail their own way.

If you have read my posts on here then lasts nights programme would just confirm what I have been saying.

As soon as Moonves got involved the fight was going to happen. Arum was never the problem, the only problem was Floyd Mayweather.

Floyd knew he had to take the fight back in August /September last year. Shortly after Memo was at his gym with Ariza.

That is 6 months with zero testing, because testing only began when Floyd announced the fight so he could make sure his tests would be clean.

It is no coincidence that Floyd was ripped and muscled up 8 weeks ago.

posted on 20/4/15

I cant see any reason why Floyd would hire Alex Ariza at this point of Floyd's career and why Memo would be down at Floyd's gym too. I dont see any reason for it.

Floyd has been doing his own strength and conditioning his whole career so why change your methods before the biggest fight of your life.

It could be all innocent though and maybe just a bit of mind games from Floyd hiring both Pac's ex strength coach and getting advice from the trainer who's fighter knocked Pacman out..

posted on 20/4/15

We can't ignore the changes in Floyd's body, and we know he never wanted the fight against Pacquiao.

Floyd is just taking the necessary measures to make sure he wins.

That last link went down, updated now

So Moonves put pressure on Floyd to take the fight back in August, Floyd hires Ariza and Memo and then has over 6 months or zero testing where he is free to use the hard stuff.

Even before training has become he in the best shape he has ever been, more muscular and ripped than ever before.

Then he stalls on announcing the fight, because when the fight is on testing will begin, so he stalls so the PEDs can clear his system.

It is shocking how dirty Floyd is.

He needs to get Lance Armstrong'd and have his titles stripped and his record wiped.

I feel pity for roach, the guys life revolves around pac it seems, also didn't like the fact that he said he didn't bother with some fighters in his stable cuz he was so into pac, pretty selfish that, also I read or heard somewhere that he was quoted as saying if he wasn't training pac he may have attempted suicide

Also laughed at how roach tried to excuse the no drug testing before fight night which scuppered the 1st fight

Better than having your life revolve around money.

The feeling between Roach and Manny is mutual as well. They are like father and son.

Thats the way it goes Mr c. A side vs B side. Funny arum talking about the name order because i specifically remember him wanting and getting dela hoyas name first when he fought floyd. It was dela hoya vs Mayweather. Hypocritical old kant.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Arum wasn't involved in that fight

Pacquiao is the much bigger star.
Showtime and TMT have done a terrible job as broadcaster and promoter. Top Rank and HBO have out done themselves

70/30 in Pacquiao's favour or Floyd can go %$&* himself

If Floyd did lose. Would he even want a rematch? What would be the point. His 0 would have gone already. His whole persona is based around being undefeated, him being the best of the best, TBE etc. The guy would crumble if he lost.

Pacquiao and Roach said they will take any test the commission requires them to take, and if Floyd would have petitioned the commission they would have had the random blood and urine testing carried out by the commission.

Floyd didn't want that for some reason.

His testing also leave huge hole in testing. He been working with Memo for the last 8/9 months only the last 8 weeks has he been subjected to random testing.

I think this as well, he might have a mental break down.

Mr C yeah I think you're right. There probably won't be a rematch.

If Floyd wins then no way will he give Manny a rematch. Look how much work and how many years it's taken to get Floyd in the ring with Manny.

If Manny wins then I suspect that Floyd wouldn't want any part of a rematch, although that would depend on the manner of the loss. If it was a KO then definitely not.

A close points decision loss for Floyd is the only way we'll see these two in the ring a second time in my opinion. Even then there are no certainties.

It would have been better for HBO to split it into two parts. Especially if Showtime are doing three or four for Floyd as it just makes Floyd look far more important.
