Only the 8th? That is a shocking stat, but at the same time indicates Kane could be the next big star England need in big stage.
I wonder who he'lol sign for. You'd expect a big club to snap him up sooner or later if he carries on like this.
Suprised to see Le Tissier on that list. Didn't think he was prolific enough.
As for Kane that is a marvellous effort.

Yes eighth player not eighth time.....Shearer and Wright managed it on 8 occasions between them.
Was surprised I did not see Owen or Ferdinand in there.
Wonder who the next English player to get that will be
The next different English player I meant
Surprised Sheringham is not on that list
Owen never got more than 20 in the league... really surprised hearing Carragher say that the other day as it seemed like he was so clinical, he was young though and maybe injuries hindered him I reckon his goal to game ratio is strong
Owen always liked 2-3 months off before a tournament because England was always his priority
In Owen's first full season he scored 18 in the league and 23 overall. He was 17/18 years old. The following season he scored 18 in the league and 23 overall. The following season he scored 11 in the league and 12 overall, in a injury hit season. Then 16 in the league and 24 overall. Then 19 in the league 29 overall. Followed by 19 and 28 overall. Then 16 and 19 overall. Then scored 14 for Real in his first season.
Those are some impressive stats for a young player who suffered badly with injuries.
Don't listen to Kash, he talks out of his ass. This is the guy who said Sturridge could have played through the pain with injections, despite being out for months with an injury.
The reason Owen was off, was when he was injured, which was a lot as we played him at every opportunity and he was so quick he did his hamstring regularly.
Not to forget that he also won the Balon d'Or.
Surprising to see that Rooney has only managed it twice, you would have thought he had done better.

For me it is better to score a few less goals in a season but to consistently score a lot of goals. That is what Rooney gives you.
Cole never managed it at United interestingly enough.
Fowler was probably about 20 when he did it... THAT hat-trick
I'm a big Rooney fan, and think he has had a fantastic career. I think it shows that he has never been consistently 'exceptional', just very very good over a number of years.
Sturridge could maybe reach it if he had a largely injury free season, hard to see that happening though.

Rooney offers more than just goals however. He's a hard worker and also provides for others. Not to mention the selfless roles he has played over the years for the team, when he'd obviously rather be up top scoring goals.
But he has rarely hit the 'exceptional' bracket, nonetheless, just been consistently very good. Bar 09/10.
Let's talk proper goalscorers, James Peter Greaves. Eight times for Spurs, Four times for Chelsea he scored over 20 league goals a season.
Just think how good he could have been without the booze and the ciggies.
That's some company he's in. Every one of those players is considered a Premier League great.
Kevin Phillips arguably not, but the rest anyway.
There are not that many foreign players to add to that list to tell the truth, so it would still be an elite club. Ronaldo, Drogba, RVP, Van Nistelrooy, Aguero, Adebayor, Suarez, Torres and Henry isn't it?
