Read the book 3 or 4 times I reckon, one of my favourites but never seen the film. Maybe I should get round to it.

Its a decent film and both Hurt and Burton are on good form but the book remains more powerfull.

Ah yeah totally agree the book is the best version of read it over and over again and it's mental
How relevant orwells message is becoming more and more relevant in today's society, Steve jobs was big brother

If you like the BBC dramas you'll love boys from the blackstuff it's amazing, there is a TV play that proceeds it if you can get that and watch it first it's good but not essential Bleasdale is a great writer.

Boys from the blackstuff is brilliant. The final scene in The Green Man pub is one of the funniest yet saddest scenes ever.

Barnes from platoon was a good shout. I hated him in that film.

Loved the (stereotypical) divide between the left and right in that film, the stoner left who just didn't want to be there and the fired up right, who were psycho. Very political reflection of the U.S., even if stereotypically done. Great film.

Bardem in No Country.

Nurse Ratched in One flew over the Cuckoos nest. Most hateable character of all time.

Keyser Soze just for the brilliant twist, and such a likeable villain.
