Give Sehwag, Raina or Myklung a ring and see if you can buy their bats, used during the recent tour of England. They are in perfect condition and have not been used much either

I am an England fan but even I feel sorry when you guys make such comments. There was absolutely no need for that in this thread. Why do we have to get so arrogant just because we have won a series.Obviously if the poster is trying to denigrate England's acheivements then i hate it and then we can such comments. But this thread is hardly a wum thread.

It was supposed to be humorous shank. Chill out a little buddy

P.S. We haven't won a series mate, we have won many but I won't let you drag me off topic here So instead of wasting your time not enjoying my joke, give the OP some advice on his predicament.

i bought a bat online from romida.com, decent selection of bats and they even shipped out to Gran Canaria where i live. I recommend Gray Nicolls, I have two nicolls bats: the old nitro and the new ignite, but i got the Ignite from sports direct when i was back in the UK. seriously, it cost me 60 quid as it was reduced, and it is absolutely fantastic, it has perfect pickup and has monster thick edges, but is a light as anything. beautiful bat, before splashing out, id check sports direct, just in case, but dont expect anything amazing (i think i got lucky)

hope i could help

Mate I know we have won many series. In fact we have been brilliant but dont think we should get arrogant.Praising England is fine but trying to denigrate others sounds a bit arrogant.

As far as Raina is concerned I agree he is awful.

Dead right!

Any bat from any player in the indian squad bar Dravid will need knocking in well before it can be used.

AND you won't get a decent Gray Nicolls for less than £220

towncryer,

Depends where you look, I got a very good nitro for 110 pounds, albeit not top of the line, and the ignite I was talking about for 60 pounds, although it was significantly reduced for the after-christmas sale from about 150 pounds. And it is one of the best bats I've ever used or seen.

its all about smart shopping

A proper cricketer would only use a £150 cricket bat firewood.

you shouldn't but a bat from a website - you need to hold the bat and knock a ball against it a few times so you can feel the size of the sweet spot

posted on 30/8/11

Yes, because the sweet spot can be higher or lower up the bat.

My son said his £280 G&M didn't have a middle. I thought it was wonderful. This was because he hits the ball maybe 2 or 3 inches higher up the bat than I do

Also, check the grip and the pick-up. I have small hands, even though I'm well over 6'. Some bats have a grip that is too fat.
