He’s almost an unknown quantity as far as I’m concerned, he’s had such wildly mixed fortunes with Dortmund it is hard to judge. He really could go either way and I think a lot will be down to luck, if he gets a good start, the press / fans gets behind him and the players believe in him the momentum will do wonders for his progress, likewise a bad start and questions raised it could fall apart.
It was like AVB, he just felt like a fraud who was doomed from quite early on.
Klopp is a fantastic manager who has made moderately average players seem ridiculously good. On top of this, no team in the PL is on the smile standing as Barca, Bayern, Real etc, so I fail to see your comparison
I think that if Klopp comes to the PL ,he could be another revelation ,depending on the team ! He won't make much of a difference to a top 4/5 team ,but to a team in the chasing pack of teams he could certainly make the difference If he was given the time !
I watched the guy when he was at Mainz ,prior to Dortmund ,and he had more or less complete control of the club ,and he transformed them from never were's to a strong Bundesliga outfit ,thats why Dortmund snapped him up .
I'm sure that a team with the right hierarchy/management values, like for example Saints /Swansea /Newcastle /West Ham ,would benefit immensely from Klopp ,if they were to give him complete control of playing staff, and of course time .
Pretty sure Benitez is regarded as one of the better managers to have managed in the PL.

I don't like the man but he's a good manager with a good record in England.
That was a great article.
Drogg and JNR
Would a fair assessment off Benitez be good manager but not great?
Excellent in Europe. Less so domestically because I think European success was what he wanted more. If he were Arsenal manager, I think we would have done better in Europe, but may well have fallen out of the top 4 at times.
GUNNER
He has great starting tactics which is why he managed to outsmart the likes of Mourinho, Cappello and Mancini, Fergie aswell when he was with us, his problem has always been when things aren't working and he needs to change things round, he's almost clueless in that department which is why his league record isn't the best.
I think Klopp would be a hit in the PL. He certainly has the charisma and the likabilty although he's much more than that. He's a very good manager.
Not sure why things backfired so spectacularly for him at Dortmund but his best players were sold off which can't be easy when you're trying to build a team.
Didn't bayern win the league and get to a cl final with bayern a few years ago? In 2010 bayern won the cl meaning it must of been as good as real or barca or even better and Dortmund won the league 2 years on the bounce. Poor article it would seem

Inter beat Bayern in the final, didn't they? Plus, the likes of Barca, Chelsea etc. were probably better than Bayern that year imo, they just already got knocked out by Jose's Inter.
I think Klopp's finest achievement with Dortmund was reaching the CL final in 2013, but at the same time you can say someone like RDM has won the CL, so its difficult to say how good that makes him. One things for sure, what happened to Dortmund in the first half of this season was shocking and I don't understand how an elite manager could let that happen.
I disagree with OP.Klopp will be a good manager and might turn out to be the second best manager in Premiership after Mourinho if he manages a tea in Premiership in the future.
So because they lost in the final they are automatically poor? And they both contested the final two years ago.
So you don't think it was an achievement for klopp winning the league two years on the bounce(one year when bayern got to the final) against a team with robben Ribery lahm(in their primes) schwienstiger(sp?) and whoever else they had? Harsh view torres Imo

It didn't say it wasn't an achievement, I just feel beating Real etc. to reach the final in 2013 was a bigger achievement. The Bayern sides they beat to the title weren't as good as the Bayern of 2013-present. That needs to be kept in mind.
Think they still beat bayern in the cup final and also obviously just lost in the cl final a few years back though. I think bayern have been a top aide for bout 5 years now though
We'll see who changes their opinion this time next year when he flops at Liverpool or Arsenal
I don't have much of an opinion Tezza. Just believe he has done a very good job so far. Whether he flops or not is another matter. Don't know much about the guy.

Yes he's had Dortmund playing some good attacking football and won trophies despite repeatedly losing his best players, but he won those titles when Bayern weren't at the same heights as they are now

So Bayern went very good around the time Dortmund were winning the league?
About the same time Chelsea beat them in the champions league?
You mean Klopp has the potential to win the champions league, a trophy with chelsea and go on to manage Real Madrid.
