Match Report
It was third vs fourth in the table, despite both teams only having one win out of four. The close nature of Division 1. Pride initially started the stronger team and eventually made their dominance pay when they went one-nil up through Aubemayang, who dribbled the ball forward and beat Friedrich, before playing a neat one-two with Afobe to take Wimmer out of the game to give them the lead. Pedro then got the ball out wide and crossed for Aubemayang to head the second home just before half time. Fishguard were on the back foot but got a lifeline early in the second half whem Fischer was rashly chopped down by Castro. Vietto calmly stepped up to send Enyeama the wrong way and halved the deficit. It was Pride who had the better chances to put the game to bed, Luisao missing a header from a corner and Blind having a long range screamer saved by Ryan. However, it was Fishguard managed to get the equaliser on the counter attack with Tielemans slotting home from the edge of the box. There was time for one more chance as Robben controlled a long ball down for substitute Hazard to blast the ball into the back of the net. He ran to the corner flag to celebrate but his celebrations were cut short by an offside flag to end the match in a draw.

Fishguard
It's an unorthodox system today and I can see what is being attempted in places. But, when it's boiled down, there's a few things I don't like. Firstly, I'd have Tielemans and Klaasen higher up, where they don't have to worry about defending so much and have the freedom to create rather than just making the late runs in. I'm also not sure getting two centre backs to man-mark two centre forwards is the right idea, despite Wimmer covering. I'd have just had a back four zonal.
I found the tactics a little difficult to read, I would recommend splitting up, be it bullet pointing each player, doing attacking tactics, defending tactics, something.
I can see how you've matched up the tactics to the players so plus points to that, but the side needs a bit more proven quality.
Pride
The first thing I see when I look at the Pride team is a lack of creativity in the middle, and Castro at centre back when he is a full back by trade. Mascherano could go to centre back and a creative player in the middle. Afobe, while a decent striker at championship level, isn't up to scratch compared to the rest of the team. Robben is definitely a RM and is a little wasted on the left for me.
I do think on the wings is where your team shines, the full backs and wingers are excellent but I think it could get 'easy' to defend against unless you have an option through the middle.
Just a Q. was home slot given?

Nice game this, two V2 rivals, stepping up to the big leagues
this game for me is won and lost in midfield, Trebs I like your formation and with Suarez maybe it'd work a bit tidier, feel 3 centre-backs when an opponent plays one up top is a little extreme and the extra body could be better used in midfield (see my own tactics vs Ludy where I said as much)
Schweiny is a worldy but up against Yaya and De Rossi he'd come unstuck.
Marky Mark for me is set up perfectly for the away side, a solid central 3 that will dominate, a good back line, pace out wide and a good mobile lone striker

A nice tidy game between these two managers, both come to play and more importantly both come to win
some real world class talent on display from both sides mainly in attacking areas,
Haakster - You know I'm not a fan of one up top, but not saying it can't work and in Mandy you have the second best striker for the job (Ibra being the best) your front 3 AM's are a collection of séxy ass mófo's though and will trouble any side, not sure how i'd set-up against them myself.. and with Vidal and Kondogbia marshalling the defence you're incredibly hard to break down through the middle, do think your full backs can be gotten at though, but all sides have a weakness and thankfully for you, you have many more strengths than weaknesses
Fandango - Your side has a lovely blend of pace and power, not massively certain on Corchia and Hector (not saying they're not good ut's probably a lack of research) your midfield 3 is superb, pace, power, technique they have it all between them and I think all in all would be a very good match for Haak's even with his AM's playing a part.....trident up-top I like muchly as in my mind I see Santiago and Berahino cutting inside more than running the line which should create some good openings in my opinion.....
Think both sides have the same weaknesses and thats wide attack vs wide defence....normally Fan would have the edge but today I think Silva/Moura linking with Firmino in support of Mandy would be the more explosive...good game, tight call

Fishguard vs pride (continued)
The game then went into injury time, where pride's team were remonstrating with the linesman. They had scored what they thought was the winning goal. After a lengthy delay, the goal was not given to pride's frustration. Their misery was compounded when the goalkeeper showed some quick thinking to find Vietto long to sneak in and smash home a last minute winner.

SUMMARY : A close one to call with both teams setting up to cancel the other out. I like the look of Gosport’s defence and midfield while at the same time liking Tippy’s midfield and pace out wide. Personally I miss a bit of creativity in the centre of the park and for me the midfield was a bit too workmanlike and cautious especially for a home game. Lubo’s team stuck to their task and maybe with a more prolific striker it could have been his day. All in all this was a day for the defenders and the sitting midfielders.

SUMMARY : Both managers have tweaked their tactics this week and on paper 2 very handy line ups. Again not a whole lot in this game for me. I really, really like the look of Leiva’s team and I really, really like what Fan did with his tactics this week. Leiva definitely has the players to play his system but I’m not a fan of (in my my humble opinion so no moaning) over complicating things. Concentrate on how to get the best out of your own side and do it without flipcharts and diagrams with each substitution. Fan’s set up could be seen by some as ‘old-fashioned’ but for me it works perfectly. Good solid defence (2 great full backs), mobile energetic midfield 3, pace out wide and a big centre forward to bang them in.
