try something other than crossing the ball every 45 seconds
Won't last long, we'll learn to break teams down and with a couple of good signings in the summer we'll be fine.

This is the problem, it's a big shift in style and that's what we've been doing for a long time.
For 30 years we have been a crossing team. Cross it until it goes in by any means. Why did we suddenly decide that we would be tippy tappy? Just launch it into the box and it will go in eventually. It's called tactics.
I have to say when you counter (not possible that often today) you do look like the United of old a fair bit. 4 players in an all out sprint straight to goal.
saw it a couple of times today and it was a bit deja vu-ish
Tbh don't know where this new style myth has come from.
What I've seen is countless crosses and hoofs to Fellaini keep ball between the defence for 10 mins isn't efficient possession football.
From a supporter of a club that plays possession football
Although we might sneak the 4th place, today felt as low as the Fulham home game last season when he literally had no ideas.
Of course you'll get the usual fans who believe the simple answer is to buy this player and that player but how on earth could we be so lame going forward with Rooney, Mata, RVP, Falcao, Di Maria all on the same pitch. It's a bit ridiculous.
I agree with Ox
you eased off on the long balls to Fellaini, but you cross all match every match. It's pretty predictable watching it.
to your credit you abandoned the route 1 hoofing and it makes the banter less fun.
now you only hoof sideways
We are very similar in style and ability to Barcelona of 2011, the only difference is we are playing in a much stronger league so don't just walk results like they did.
We sometimes just pass for the sake of passing. Too many times today we went backwards or played the wrong pass.
Similar ability to arguably the greatest ever club side???

Are you Barry Smith in disguise?
I don't mind the possession game, it's just that it's quite slow and some players spend to long on the ball, Young and Mata to name two.
I think we need to quicken the tempo, one and two-touch possession football should (in theory) draw the opposition out and create space.
A bit of pace on the counter wouldn't go a miss either
We had enough clear chances last 3 games to score 10 goals. Its a bit like when Barcelona lost to Chelsea.
We don't have a single player who can suddenly jig past two or three defenders on the edge of a crowded box to open some space for a shot/cross. Like Hazard, Ronaldo, Messi, Robben etc.
We don't even have anyone who's any good at long range shots, on a regular basis.
We certainly don't have anyone who can score a massively deflected freekick to win us the game when we don't deserve to.
And final rant, we have very little pace and no leaders. No one who can say "hold on a minute lads we're not losing this", then go and win us the game.
Today bad finishing cost us. Thats why we are where we are. Domination wise we could have won the title easily this season.

What's it going to take for you to realise that possession doesn't automatically mean superiority?
I mean cmon Hafi
