To vote is a civic duty.

It's unfortunate, none of the PM candidates are worthy imho. It's hard to decide if this is the case. I will still vote.

If you spoil the ballot, it tells the parties that you're willing to vote for something that is worth voting for, but they are not doing a good enough job.

---

It probably doesn't tell them any of those things. I bet they just throw them in the bin.

They count spoiled ballots. If enough people spoil them, it will be noticed.

I've read that if enough people write "none" or an exact term, it has to be included in the official counts.

We're talking millions though, which is just never gonna happen.

Some people, no matter what you say to them, have absolutely no interest in voting.

But Leanne has a lovely voice. I'd vote for her voice alone.

the candidate here has been basicly chasing people down the highstreet

I live in Dundee East, which is a safe SNP seat. I haven't seen any of my candidates.

I've been hoping the Labour one would chap my door so I could tell her what I thought of her party.

Please everybody, go out and vote. I'm not saying what party your should vote for, as that is up to you, but for the sake of the country, vote for somebody.

Think of people in countries like North Korea, Zimbabwe, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and many more, where democracy is either non-existent, or a farce. Countries in which the regime's thugs can come knocking on your door in the dead of night, to drag you off, simply for having a different view.

We are very lucky in the UK, and most of Europe (well, Hungary is looking a bit dodgy at present I guess) but do not take universal suffrage for granted. Remember, people died for this.

I'm sure those suffering in the countries you mentioned will be absolutely delighted to hear things are much better here

Spoiling a ballot is more of a protest than not voting.

I voted Lib Dem myself. Mostly cause before Norman Baker my constituency was tory for a century. Stuff a return to them. My sister gets to vote for Caroline Lucas the lucky beggar.

To the people who might vote tory purely on the basis that labour is incompetent, instead of an ideological basis, don't. The labour leadership is not incompetent, and if they are they will find people who are. The tories are competent at what they do, which is pursue the interests of wealth division and top level wealth. They stole the royal mail and sold it for a pittance, killed the best performing rail service because, as it was nationalised, it went against their narrative and even tried to sell the forests. The tories might be competent at achieving their goals, but those goals are not in our interest.
