Santi Cazorla Is A Problem

Personally I'd go with when fit

Welbeck
Sanchez Cazorla Ozil
Ramsey Coq.

I think Ozil can do a job wider but Santi is at his best centrally. I prefer Ramsey deep and think Coq is needed.

So far this seasin we have seen Szcz, Gibbs and Debuchy lose their first choice position. No one is indispensible.

Santi and Ozil are the problem, play one or the other not both.

And apart from 3 or 4 games and a few flashes in others Ozil has been nothing special this season. Cazorla was better when he was playing at no.10.

Given Arteta no longer has the physicality to perform the role, nor play regularly (without getting injured) he will be no more than a squad player next season.

To suggest he replaces our most creative player (and statistically the most complete playmaker behind Hazard in the league) is utterly absurd.

That's why Arteta needs Coquelin to be his legs, Wenger killed him making him our sole DM. Arteta won't lose his technique, awareness and vision anytime soon.

Cazorla isn't our most creative player either, Ozil unlocks defences much better, Santi is good at making obvious passes but he can't do what Ozil did against Reading at Wembley for instance

Ever since Ozil came back we were playing much better. We only inproved results wise in December still awful to watch until Mesut returned.

Ozil has been immense and rightly is first choice No. 10

As per my previous post, regardless of your own personal opinion, Cazorla is statistically the second best playmaker in the league.

Why on earth would you want to replace him with Arteta, (his inadequate strength/conditioning aside) who has managed one assist since 2013?

Arteta is a squad player at best.

Santi a problem

Having 'problems' like Santi Cazorla are what we've been missing for years - having genuine options for the first XI rather than anyone being pretty much able to name the whole team plus subs bench.

Cazorla deep is an option, Cazorla as no.10 is an option. If pushed Cazorla wide is an option. When taken as a holistic view of the squad rather than looking at individual players we're getting to a very good place and if used correctly by Wenger could finally see some rotation, fresher players throughout the season, variance of tactics etc etc.

For my tuppance worth, apart from Monday's game we've looked good recently so I wouldn't change much for the last few games while we still have something to play for. Pre-Season is the time for Wenger to work out his options and whom is better where long term.
