In seriousness though, South American football is a joke. Half a team got pepper sprayed in Argentina the other day. Can't be much fun playing knowing you might get attacked by fans.

Can't believe some of the comments. This could quite easily have been a live murder witnessed as any kick to the back, the spinal column, the central nervous system, can quite easily permanently paralize a man, at best. I have received such an attack back as a teen, and let me tell you, I was unable to move, or talk for some time afterward.

can't work out whether to feel more anger at the opposing player, or the idiots who designed a football pitch with a solid wall a few metres from the touchline.

So sad, the fact that it was an innocent "bump" by the other player. At least it wasn't done with malice, truly an accident. He must feel terrible and live with that for the rest of his life.
When I was younger I used to be a typical bloke, into boxing, playground scraps, etc. But today, as a parent, in this manic world we live in I have more compassion and empathy towards others. We all share this "home" of ours and how much nicer it would be to all live in harmony.
