I think the one thing arsenal most definitely need is a small, quick player who can play as a 10 or out wide. This type of player would transform your team.

we don't need him.

his position is low in our priorities.

Watching this all unfold puts into perspective how far we have come over the last 5 or so years.

Its so nice to not have your best players wanting to go to bigger teams . We have got to a stage now where the only realistic upgrade are the top 4 clubs in the world

I would take Sterling instantly. Better all round footballer than Theo.

No thanks. Sterling is awfully overrated. Headless chicken with very little end product. Not much better than Theo and certainly not an improvement on Ox.

100% no, ignoring the fact that he is far from the finished product, he clearly has a massive attitude problem. His behaviour towards Liverpool has been terrible.

I hope it's you and not us.

If the price is right i would take him due to the ever injured Oxlade and Co.

Welbeck now looks like hes been struck with the Arsenal Injjury curse.

Honestly, he would.
We have a number of small technically gifted players, but if Walcott leaves, we only have two widemen and only two players that can go beyond their man consistently in the final third, stretch teams, and ultimately help breakdown the opposition's defensive structure - Chamberlain and Sanchez.

Even if we look past the fact that both seem to provide more natural width when playing on the right (Sanchez always cuts inside from the left), if one of them gets injured, we're essentially left with playing either Welbeck or one of the central midfielders on the wing.
Our play as of late has been completely stifled by a lack of width. It's infuriating watching the ball come out to our full-backs, only for them to have to turn and pass it back inside because there's no-one down the line they can link up with.
And it makes us a lot easier to defend against if:
1) All our players converge into a congested area of the pitch.
2) We have no pace in-behind
3) We have no real directness.

Other than Sanchez and Chamberlain, we really don't have a anyone that can stretch teams, stand up the full-back and go beyond them.
When a team's playing with a compact defensive structure, having a player that can take one or two players out can cause disarray.
Similarly, using the full-width of the pitch creates pockets of space for our central players to exploit.

I appreciate his attitude hasn't endeared him to people, but I really think Sterling is an incredible talent, and fits the bill perfectly.

Rodgers called him out in public for refusing to sign a new 100k a week deal which started the whole thing, don't actually see what Sterling's done wrong. Liverpool have played in the CL once in about 8 years and are way behind the top teams now, this time last year they were calling him the best young player in Europe and he is a huge talent. Don't see why he should be bound to stay with Pool

I don't like his hair.

Sterling is a real talent.
If it's a straight swap for little Theo we should go for it - it's an absolute no-brainer.

Totally disagree about it being a no-brainer. Neither really contribute much defensively so we can only really compare them on their contributions to each team's attack... so here goes:
- Theo averages more than 1 goal every 2 games over last 3 seasons
- Sterling is averaging 1 in 4 over the last 2 seasons
- Theo assists more than once every 3 games
- Sterling assists about 1 in 5 games

The only advantage I can see Sterling having is being fit more often. But other than that the numbers are heavily in Theo's favour
