Yep that is true.
We also didn't always have the best head to head when picking up titles.
It obviously bodes well if we can take our big game record into next season, but we really need to improve against the smaller teams.
Granted, the shambolic first ten games has had a massive impact on our points total in that regard.
Surely we can't start as bad next season?

That's another trophy as far as Hafi is concerned

Well I hope you do start as bad seeing as I am a Pool supporter
But the danger then is by concentrating on the lesser games you take the eye off the ball in the biggies.
However if you can roll over the rest of the league 12 - 15 points from the 30 available will have you there or thereabouts.

Are there any reasons at all we won't challenge heavily for the title and CL?
------
No team has ever finished 4th and the next year went onto win the league, but theres a 1st for everything
The points for us are still wrong.

Are we bottom of every table I look at
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. You are top of the 'goals conceded in the big 6 H2H' table.
And also top of the 'least goals scored in the big 6 H2H' table.
Thing is a win is 3 points whoever you play. Obviously psychological elements can come in to play when it's against rivals but getting the majority of our points against the lesser teams is key.
Ultimately you get a maximum of 30 points against the top 6 but 84 against the rest. Beating the best side home and away can mean little if at the same time you lose home and away to the worst.

It's about getting the balance I suppose, plus I'm not sure we'd take our eye off the big games if the smaller games got us into a position to compete.
Chelsea are a good example of that. They clearly saw their problems against the smaller sides and have rectified it, while actually getting less points in the big games this season, but walked the title because of it.
Not saying we'll do the same, of course, but something needs to be done to pick up more points against the smaller sides.
I've edited. Sure I made a similar mistake last time Barf and mu1982 - cheers
First 10 games - played shít with shít results.
games 10 -20 (ish) - played shít with excellent results
20 - 30 - played shít with mix results
30 - 38 - Played mixed with good results
Not many tweaks needed barring the start of the season. No nasty flights to America, no nasty mildew of Moyes' to clear.

Darren tbh I think you guys will do that next seson (pick uo more points from the smaller sides)
I actually expect you to challenge for the title although I dont think you will win it.
Chelsea look well placed to retain their title and it will be interesting to see who City bring in.
The CL will be tough as the top 3 seem to be at a level above the rest of Europe at the moment.
5 wins and 3 draws don't equal 20 points.
