We are in third, exactly where we belong. Perhaps one place higher if you look at United. Anyone who thinks we had a divine right to finish above city and Chelsea with this current squad is utterly deluded

Apart from not starting Walcott, Wenger set the team well. Sunderland were up for it, well played.

That wasn't by design. We wanted to win the game but were just outplayed and later we were down to 10 men. Besides, Villa have enough quality upfront to give us problems, no need for them to be defensive.

No way was our plan to go to pens. United were just awsome and unlucky that day. Just like we were a few years earlier against pool.

Errors of getting us to another final and finishing at least fourth for a 19th year?

Oh and Arsenal have ruined survival Sunday. Faking idiots.

If we play like that in the cup final we will concede. We gave them the best chances to score first. We were lucky.

No one is happy with not winning everything, it's just new fans like yourself expect to win everything and when we don't you go mad. It's poison and I don't understand why we have this. Even Chelsea fans are OK with losses. Even Liverpool fans and their delusion don't lose the plot after every dropped point like you do.

We have the worst fans in the league. Fact. I've come to terms with it

Can someone please explain to me why consistently finishing 3rd or 4th is lauded as some kind of miraculous achievement?

Would say looking on a "match thread" for real supporters is not going to glean much success to be fair.

Parking the bus is no excuse. Most top teams face this sort of set up and find their way around it with pace and movement. We were facing a plodding relegation-threatened back 4 not Inter of 09/10. We've dispatched teams like this plenty of times in the past so don't bring this up as an excuse. I've seen enough 0-0 draws here at the Emirates to know that the primary cause is pedestrian football with no width and directness, rather than opposition defending.

Look at our points tally. We have gone backwards this season. So much for Wenger being restrained by money. It's his own tactical ability that holds him back. It's a real shame as I think he's actually a brilliant manager in terms of developing quality and chemistry, which is the reason why he gets such consistent finishes year after year.
