Tom Huddlestone represents everything that has been wrong with Tottenham.
Fantastic player, all the ability in the world, beautiful passer of the ball, but didn't have the application to get himself fit, and get himself consistent.
Part of the "lads" drinking culture group of Hudd, Livermore, Lennon, and Walker, by all accounts, and that level of unprofessionalism is something we have moved on from.
I love everything that Huddlestone should have become for us, but he didn't have it in him to get truly to the top, ability wise he is one of the most talented English centre mids, but he didn't show us enough of it.
we have moved on, so has he, and no, I wouldn't want him back and standing in the way of people like Dele Alli and Bentaleb

Unfortunately Tom had the turning circle of an aircraft carrier. Lovely striker of the ball but way too immobile for our midfield!

And another from me
Agree with everything Chronic said.
Should have become a top player but for whatever reason - quite probably desire - never has.
Wouldn't improve us, sadly.
Huddlestone should have been better than Michael Carrick. He's wasted his career imho.

Were his ankle injury troubles due to him not managing his weight ??
After 2010, he was never the same.

Better than anything we have currently
Would I have him starting over Bentaleb? Probably not, the boy is raw but has talent which will hopefully grow.
Would I give him a squad place over Paulinho, Stambouli or Dembele? Does a bear shitteth in woods?
Huge mistake selling him, said it then, say it now. What was it, 5m? And paying 17m for Paulinho? Laughable

Cant believe am reading this!!!!
We sent Hull 3 duffs and they are struggling to stay in the league,.What more evidence do you need. Huddlestone has been average this season and If I remember correctly was dropped for a few games and indeed has been getting some stick from some his supporters.
We trying to play at a high temp and don't need the dumb truck to slow us down.
Didnt Huddlestone cut out putting sauce on his chips in an effort to lose weight
Hudd would do better in a slower paced league, he is not suitable for what Poch is trying to do.
Really appalling when put in those terms HRH. Flogged a reliable Range Rover and bought a Lada with a Bentley badge on the boot.

No.
He could have been a really good player. Wasn't afraid to be something other than a midfield brute because of his size. Technically flawless, but didn't grow to take charge of games. Too inconsistent. What is he now, 27? He's not even been very good for Hull, why would a lack of form there earn him a move to us?
Aside from that, he lacks the stamina and mobility to play in our system.

I'd have loved for Hudd to have established himself for us and also England, but his passing ability wasn't enough to mask his deficiencies. He didn't/couldn't dictate the tempo of games as I'd like him to and as I believe he should have done.
He was ace a few years back, not really an improvement now.
Just wondering, if he was so good at shooting why did he score so few goals?
