He's fantastic, weird I just posted an article and named him the one defender j would nab. I like Reid from west ham too but clyne can get so much better.
Better than any RB's we have at the moment.
If you really have bid £10m then, whilst I get the whole bid low to start with theory, that does seem to be slightly taking the p....s.

what wud u consider respectable?
plus our owners are forever undervaluing really good players, getting priced out of it then we overpay for our 2nd choice!

if you think you could get him for, let's say £16-18m, i'd have thought an opening offer has to be at least £12m...otherwise you run the risk of annoying the selling club.
given that last year they sold shaw for £27m, chambers for £16m, and, erm, lovren for £20m, i think we can guess what their response to a £10m bid for clyne would be.
Would it be cynical of me to think the player wants a move to Utd but they're not making a move. What's the quickest way to get Utd to bid? Let's say Liverpool are in for him.
Don't expect it to happen.

surely you mean saying liverpool are in for him is the quickest way to get spurs to bid...
Final year of his contract so his price is gonna be lower.
Another Southampton player though . And not the one we should be going for (Schneiderlin)
10m does seem way too low.
If true, it seems a bit odd.
We just needed to offer Lovren to go the other way plus £9.5m.

But surely the fact we are in the Southampton Frequent Buyer Scheme means we're entitled to some discount? We've accumulated some serious points, you know......
Price is about right for a defender with a year left on his contract.
If we go more than £15m we are absolutely mental, though I do rate Clyne.
its just a wind up... b-rod knows we poor reds have been wound up by nasty Southampton internet warriors so he is getting his own back.
If there was a Southampton player to purchase last summer by us he was the one. I said at time we should have got him especially after the footers we're going on about how great chambers was
We'll bid £15mil
Then Spurs will bid £17mil
Then he'll sign for Chelsea for £14mil
