There was no chance of Blatter losing. Europe is tactless and ends up alienating the big blocs like Africa and Asia. UEFA have no clue how to build alliances and are viewed as arrogant and only interested in their own domination of world football. Besides, Blatter brought the World Cup to Africa and Asia plus some financial support so they will always vote for him no matter what. UEFA backed a candidate who did not even have the backing of his own confederation, what a joke.

No surprise at Blatter's victory given the fact he has Africa and much of Asia, Oceania and North + Central America under his thumb.
However, I would be very surprised if he survived the length of his term - given the snake-like nature of those currently indicted for corruption by the FBI, there will be plea bargins a-plenty, and as Blatter is known as a target for the FBI he will not be able to hide avoid the dirt forever.

He will be arrested before long, someone will squeal to save their own neck but while he is charge he can make sure the evidence gets 'lost'. Bit of luck he will spend the rest of his life being scared of taking a shower.

UEFA are an bunch of pathetic 's and disgraceful hyprocrites. If Europe are united and would have refused to participate in the next big tournement, they could have forced him to resign.
Monsieur Platini only moaning and whining and beg him to go. That is no pressure.
