Also avoid those witch things, so OP.

Do some more of the storyline, get to, at least, killing the first dragon.
Then go for a wander. Keep to the story line for a while.
Theres missions everywhere..
Kill a few people, and go sleep, someone from the assassins guild should contact you
Go to the college in winterhold. some decent missions in there
Go to...actually, there are missions literally scattered across the game.
Do the storyline, you'll pick up stuff on the way. Try not to fast travel so much too....theres so much to discover walking form mission to mission (and alot of the times you'll get distracted for hours, doing something else)
Lad I work with got it whilst off on Annual Leave came in said he'd completed it in a week...went on to explain that he'd done the main story...told him to start again and have a proper look around 2 years later he's still playing
I had it on my 360 and really want it for my PS4, I would start again.
Not sure if I'd like the online game coming out, prefer to roam around and don't play many multiplayers against others.

Get the Witcher - by all accounts this is the next gen updated version of Skyrim, and it should keep you tied over until Fallout 4

Thanks, I have been thinking about the Witcher. I will get it when it drops a little in price, got a bit more left in Far Cry yet I think.
When is Fallout due?
I used to play football, Until I took an arrow to the knee
I used to be a player till I took a wedding ring to the finger
remember having that as part of my screen-name
When thrown in at the right time, Skyrim quotes don't get any less funny
used to get annoyed when walking around in full Daedric Armour, a lone thief would try and mug me

Pretty much nailed on E3 announcement, Bethesda general plan on fall release, small chance of this year (im voting for this, and i think its been in production for a few years) big chance of 1st half next year.
Having done around 30 or so hours of the witches so far I have to say I prefer this to skyrim. Not quite as open world as people have you believe but the 3 main areas of the game are absolutely massive. Two of them at least the size of GTA.
The thing that makes it better than skyrim for me are the side quests I've done so far: well written, brilliantly acted, more varied and much more adult and dark than any of the side quests in skyrim. Absolutely love it so far
Struggling to enjoy The Witcher, SOG, have no idea how anyone could say it's preferable to Skyrim!
It's OK, don't get me wrong, just find it lacking any new ideas or creativity. Feel like I've played it 100 times before.
^^^^
I felt like this with Shadows of Mordor
Really? I enjoyed Shadow of Mordor. Thought it was a bit different and quite fun taking on 40 orcs all swarming at you at the same time.
Disappointing campaign though, much prefer the Trials of War thing where you just have to kill a load of bosses without dying, frustratingly addictive.
Also should have made it look more like the films rather than the cheesy attempts at orcs they did
yer it was good, just got bored of trying to hunt down the captains, getting wasted and them then promoting another load of bástards
some good bits in it like the pinning them in place with arrows etc.....I need to maybe give it another blast
how many hours you into it Chris as it takes a while to get going. Once you've done the prologue area it starts to open up.
Yeah I've done quite a bit actually due to it being the only game I'm playing at the moment, about level 12 I think?
It's not bad per se, just not wow'ed by it like I hoped I would be. Feels too much like yet another RPG built from a standard template lacking in any new ideas or ways to play.
Skyrim/Oblivion has really ruined RPGs for me

I started playing again because of this thread and trying to develop illusion and alteration schools while playing as an archer.
I'm not sure it's really working.
