The last sentence is spot on. Our Semi Final was not the least bit convincing. On the strength of the performance given, had we drawn Liverpool and Villa got Reading, we would now be living in media "Cream ourselves over Stevie G, winning the FA Cup on his birthday," land.
I normally disagree with Shearer but he's right about that. We were cracking yesterday, if you hold up the Semi performance against it, most of the Semi team weren't fit to clean the boots of the team that played yesterday.
He's certainly right about the Goalie and CB, the only thing he said that's open to debate is the striker. And that comes purely down to your faith in Walcott. If you believe he can get 30 in a season played as a striker, then you'll disagree with the need for the marquee striker signing. If you don't think he can get the goals (then IMO ya nuts/blind ) then you'll think we need the striker.
