"Old old old. Let's not do a QPR, pleeeeese"

There are two types of old in this world my friend, there is old and class then there is just old!

Yeah there's old and then there's Pirlo. He was brilliant last summer in the World Cup and with Cambiasso, Pirlo and King to do all the running, I'm sure he would do a great job for us.

And Dunge, we signed Cambiasso so anything is possible 😉

I wouldn't say he was better than Cucho either, not even when they were both in their prime so why not?

All players run out of steam eventually, but age catches up fastest with those whose games are based on pace and/or physicality. Pirlo's game, by contrast, is based on space awareness, creative vision and pass accuracy, even at long distance. He plays with such economy of physical effort that there may be a couple of top class seasons left in him, even at the age of 36.

I certainly wouldn't class a Pirlo signing as being on a par with QPR wasting their money on way-past-it Ferdinand.

There is absolutely no way a player about to play in a Champions League final is about to come to Leicester. He has got better with age and will surely want to carry on playing in europe

Cambiasso was playing in the Champions League before he came to Leicester, why would Pirlo want to play in Eurrope more than Cucho? When you've won everything your desires can change.

Also, if Leicester are good enough for the most decorated Argentinian in history, who has only played for River Plate, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Leicester City (I just love seeing that list), then why not for Pirlo?

Maybe he'd enjoy playing alongside Cambiasso and gracing the Premier League and with our movement and style of football, he'd probably find it enjoyable to play with us.

He'd also become a legend like Cambiasso has and going to a big club he won't get that because they're used to players of his calibre and will probably want someone younger. For us, well it takes no explaining. If I was a professional at the end of my career, I think I'd want to play for a club where I was going to be remembered as a genius not just fade away on the bench of a club that see me as past my best.

So, the 'consensus' is that he's too good to play outside of the Champions League, and too old and knackered to get in our side. A typical Foxes discussion, really.

Maybe we should just accept that, in any case, it would come down to "How much? Blimey! You could buy the whole of Thurnby Lodge for that!"

[fatfox suddenly realises that he has been gone for so long that, for all he knows, Thurnby Lodge has been pulled down and turned into a giant 'Lodge Larder' suburban shopping mall by now, with most people on the board wondering what on earth he's talking about]

fatfox, sorry but I'm pretty sure Thurnby Lodge got destroyed in a Godzilla strike in 2009.

We got lucky with Cambasso. Let's not push our luck.

The rats! I thought their job was to assemble. Mind you, back in my Leicester days my dad had a Hillman Avenger, and that sometimes seemed to be intent on disassembling itself. I remember the gearstick falling off, and him having to drive all the way home in first. How the other traffic on the Humberstone Road loved us that day.

Looks although this absolutely ridiculous 'rumour', was never ever going to happen in a million years
