Where did Klopp finish again this season?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
7th I think wasn't it?
In the past though he's also won the league, won domestic cups, consistently qualified for the CL and got to the final of the competition. As I understand it, he's done that on a reasonable budget as well.
Last year wasn't great for Dortmund but a man's track record doesn't disappear because of one bad season. Klopp has won trophies.
I like Klopp. He's not won as much as Felix Magath though.

Klopp was fortunate to have a crop of good players and a stable squad. Now look what has happened to him and his teams after losing a few players.
I rate him as a manager, but he's prone to extreme highs and lows, and there's a big possibility his performance will be a lot worse than Rodgers. What happens if that is the case? How long should we keep replacing managers until we realise we have to give someone time and opportunity to build a stable team???
Rodgers has shown that he's capable of performing to the highest level with the right players. Average managers to finish second in the premier league.

Yep, totally accept Klopp might not work out. That risk is always there.
How long should we keep replacing managers? The glib answer is for as long as it takes. More considered response would be we replace managers that have had an opportunity and have not delivered what is expected of them.
I think Rodgers is on the cusp, in 3 years he's delivered CL once and we went out in the group stages. Is that enough? Arguably not but he's been given additional grace because of how close we came last year. Rightly so as well.
I think Rodgers is a good manager and potentially a great one but he's been here for 3 years now and we've played really well for 18 months max. I'm perfectly happy to see him stay Liverpool manager and put right what went wrong this year but if we decided to go for Klopp I'd be pretty happy.

So you expect him to take a team that finished 8th in the league when he took over to a team that regularly finishes in CL position within 3 years?
Also don't forget the teams competing for these places..

Certainly didn't expect top 4 in his first year, there was no reason to. Second year I was hopefully given our strong end to the season and this year was confident of at least a strong challenge after finishing 2nd.
It's not just about the league though, in 3 years I would have liked to see some sort of progress or success in the cups, either of the domestic or Europa. Hasn't happened really with the exception of the semi this year.
As I said, he's on the edge for me. One good season is enough to give him more time but I think we probably need to see improvements and a return to a defined style of play. A better showing in the cups certainly wouldn't hurt either.
Replacing Rodgers will probably give the place a lift, but ultimately it won't make a great deal of difference as long as we have a unrealistic wage structure and employ moneybollocks.
We all know where the problem lies

oh and TOOR, okay i agree Rodgers should be given credit for last seasons 2nd place...however the most worrying thing about Rodgers is how poison his transfers have been so far. I could not trust him to spend again. The reason we didnt kick on is possibly because of the beyond poor transfer business
Perish the thought that Rodgers is learning from his mistakes and improves in the transfer market......
Term.
Whatever he says publicly to the contrary, Rodgers doesn't have final say on transfers. The Whole infamous 'committee' needs to go if we're to have a chance.

That's apparently due to the players now but due to him when they won a couple of trophies. The opposite is apparently true for Rodgers. The players got him a title challenge last season and now he moved us backwards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
the committee is being scapegoated for shiite scouts which we sacked
good scouts = good signings as long as we can afford them and they want to come
Kaiser.
Paying £20m for someone like Lovren isn't the fault of scouts. It's the fault of an incompetent transfer committee.

The transfer committee would've identified Lovren - they wouldn't need scouts to tell them his potential.

so we don't need scouts now

Not convinced by the committee myself. For me they are the decisions the manager should be making and judged on. I also can't believe Rodgers has the full final say as he was adamant that we weren't interested in Balotelli before he signed. I also don't think Kenny had the full final say.
There's definite changes need to be made in that respect.
This conversation would be easier if you actually knew what a scout was.

I think that's the problem, our former scouts were kids who only knew how to start a fire with sticks and find roots to eat in the forest.
