Really like the guy. Good signing.

Agree
I think he'll do well for us
Let's hope the deal is finalised

Good to see we seem to be targeting players with Premier League experience.

Stop trying to convince yourself it's a good signing. It's a free signing which shows where you are at now the building work has begun and you've got no CL.

We don't need to convince ourselves. We know he's a good signing.

The best part is we will now see a load of Liverpool related tweets from Boring James Milner.

building work started last year.

You've already been told that on a previous thread.

Milner. Finally a decent signing if it happens. I will believe it if I see him though in the a Liverpool fc shirt

Reliable, so a solid start. I really hope we'll be looking abroad a bit more this Summer though when it comes to money signings. No more Lovrens please.

Good signing, however, awful signing if he is supposed to be Gerrard's replacement.

Drogba, Eto, Schwartzer. How much did you pay for them?

Embarrassing yourself again SNM. It's irrelevant that he's free. City wanted to keep him and offered 165k a week. He's taking a pay cut to join us, reportedly. To say he's a bad signing just because he's free is absolutely absurd and brainless. But seeing as it's you, just another day at the office

If the deal had happened 7 years ago when Gerrard was one of if not the best in the world I'd agree but I don't know if you've noticed this but Gerrard got old. His legs couldn't do what they used to do and whilst he was still great with the ball his energy and aggression just simply weren't there.

29 year old James Milner turning down £165k a week from city to sign for Liverpool on a free is an absolute steel for Liverpool.

I'd argue that it's more of an aluminium for us to be honest.

I'm sure the 3-4m singing on fee plus 100k a week will make up for not taking 165k a year.

Whys that then?

Milner is coming on a free with a signing on fee of around £5m say? He's got hundreds of games behind him and is a long standing international. He's won 2 league titles along with other cups and has shown his quality.

Sterling is a talented youngster with potential.

Kolo.

Because he's on £35,000 a week, is constantly labelled greedy and now he's seeing a fellow England international come in on over four times his salary.

do you not think milners put the years in as pro

We are.

He has, yes, and he's been on massive wages for the majority of that time. Yet he's seen as a 'good, honest pro' and Sterling is seen as a 'greedy little barsteward'. It's all media fed PR nonsense.
