The Messenger... going back a bit... from what I remember it was a heavy hitter. I think I remember saying this could've been a Hurt Locker sequel...
Sorry a bit vague.. let us know what you thought, might revisit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Streamed it last night, harrowing stuff
Don't know how much you remember, it was the one with the slightly unstable war hero assigned to the Casualty Notifaction team with Woody Harrelson playing his mentor
Kind of depressing but blimey that was a well done film. Interesting concept, cleverly written and well acted. Honestly think I'd put Woody Harrelson as one of the best actors of his generation, think he's got alot of range as well as talent
Booked to go and see Planet of the Apes on Saturday, really looking forward to it.
Strange that they didn't shoot it in IMAX, or not that I know of anyway. It's in 3D though but surely a movie that would be better for Imax than 3D?

I preferred Life to Alien out of recent films of that genre.

Watched alien covenant yesterday, predictable ending but not a bad movie.
I'd rank it behind alien 1 and 2.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I liked it!
And don't get all the hate tbh
I see Trainspotting 2 on Sat! I liked it, but the Mrs didn't... But a lot don't impress her much

Agreed.

I'm not a big fan of 3D/4D.
Give me IMAX any day
Saw Homecoming yesterday..... that was a lot of fun.
it's sure is the spiderman i grew up with. got minor gripes, but doesn't really detract.
A genuine twist i didn't see coming, well played.
8.5/10
save your money seeing it in 3D... didn't check properly so wasn't best pleased when realised i had to wear the goggles, and sure enough the 3D was meh..
Heard they dropped fecking around with the backstory
Yup, he just swings into action.
Sony must be wondering how Marvel made it look so easy creating their villain and probably one of their best villains.
Sometimes it's the simple solutions rather than complicating the issue.
So many times I was like, "yep, straight out of the cartoons"
Really good.

I get the deslike for certain elements, especially from its dedicated fanbase.
But on second viewing, as I posted above,I enjoyed it alittle more (★★½ ) .Still daft though ,even with the continual religious symbolisms and themes.
I do like the first two Maguire films tbf

3rd film facked itself over and probably destroyed the trilogy with that cringing dance scene
the third one was ok, but i can see why people didn't like it.
i quite liked the dance scene

Is that new Netflix show Gypsy any good?
Was going to watch Paul Verhoeven's recent french film Elle, starring the brilliant Isabelle Huppert, but the subtitles didnt work.
Having abit of a sh*t time recently with subtitles not working.
Anyone watch Ray Donovan....back on soon...
also Chicago Fire...new series...I like the way they intertwine the Chicago Fire/PD & Justice series with over lapping stories & cast
Thinking of starting that series the Tunnel, anyone watched that?
Yeah I've seen The Tunnel, really enjoyed it.
